He actually got really lucky tonight considering he crashed in two of three motos and walked away with the red plate. He still looks really good, just can’t have those mistakes.

Rough night, but he still rode like a beast. I don't think there's much to worry about at this point. 

Rooting for the lad.

JuJu is fast fast.  The raw talent in the 250W is fantastic.  

Watching him in qualifying he was washing the front a ton. Thought they’d figure it out for the night show. Not so much. If he looses the championship last night could be huge as he was in position to put more points on HD and really make him implode. Can’t miss those opportunities. Two holeshots with dumb mistakes is a killer. 

I like his technique, sort of reminds me of a younger Sexton etc. I thought he was at his most sketchy mid way through the 2nd main but looked the best of the entire night in the 3rd. You can see he's on the verge of everything clicking but those silly washouts will kill his chances.

I'm pretty sure a 1-1-1 would have been better for his championship....

You could say 'bummer,' but you could also argue that this was a championship-worthy ride. If anything, Juju has now proven that he is a serious title contender, turning a crash into a strong result.

They say titles are won on your off nights. He certainly fought his way through traffic like a champion

Many a rider has washed the front end like that... the track was tough.

my personal opinion he choked the night away with the front slide outs in both motos , clearly he was faster than everybody last night but u gotta  stay the fuck off the ground & nights like this u gotta put foot on necks but hes letting guys in back the title fight , im pretty sure he’ll learn from last night & come back swinging once they come back from the east coast swing 

His qualifying speed was so clutch again. Was looking soo good. Rough go for the kid. Damn he’s exciting though.

Yeah in a weird way I actually feel better about him winning the title after last night. I know people will say you're dumb, he should have won. But he fought back to earn maximum points. I don't see Deegan just being outright faster than everyone. And will Smith and Davies being in the mix they can all take points away from each other. It can't be understated that in all the tools it takes to win, being a great starter is huge. Juju is at the front every start. Davies too, save for that last main and look what it did to him

No doubt but twice in practice and twice in the races no bueno 

Interesting he went down in practice too? Maybe Chase sought out some voodoo doctor to get rid of his problem of washing the front. But to get rid of it, he had to pass it on to someone else. 😂 😂 Off topic but God damn was Chase pushing last night and no tucking of the front

That had to sting crashing while in the lead 2 times in a row. Good salvage on the night tho. Deegan was having an off night (or at this point a normal night) so if he doesnt go down he coulda really sent a message and expanded the lead. With all that happened tho good to come out with the red plate still.

Huge that he still left with the red plate. Haiden could have put himself in the driver's seat last night. He went down in the first main right? Then got beat straight up by Davies in the second one

So very true. 

Remember though, RC and all the greats say you win titles on your bad nights. I think that is what the op is saying.

Give the kid a break. Young peeps in this sport (pros) make mistakes. Hopefully he and the team learn from them, especially if PSI or tire choice had anything to do with the wash outs.

I don't think anyone is being overly critical. Kid seems to be pretty popular just based on people rooting for him to beat Haiden. Shoot you could say he already learned from his mistakes last night when he went out and won the 3rd main

He’s young, got too excited. It happens. He’ll smooth out

One thing that stood out to me is how he gapped Deegan during that third main. 

You know that’s not what he mean’t, just couldn’t help yourself haha 

I've always liked Beaumer, but this weekend showed me something impressive. He overcame two different early-race mistakes that could have been catastrophic for his title hopes but still ended up in 4th overall on the night. If I had to place a bet for the championship right now, it would look like this:

1- Beaumer
2- Smith
3- Deegan

Deegan has to be crappin his pants. I think he (and everyone else) expected him to dominate every SX race this year...

Yep. He didn’t give up. And his interview after was good. He had a good attitude and seemed like he had fun regardless.

Anyone else think Deegan purposely tried to hit Juju after he crashed? I did in the moment. I had to watch it back to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me.  What do you you think?
