Hope so. Seems like recovery time can vary widely depending on what the damage was. Hope he is back up and riding as soon as reasonably possible and he is on point for outdoors.

Sucks to see. Agree w/ Sully - recover properly and bubble wrap him until outdoors. If he did come back for a handful of SX rounds at the end of the season and go down again, it would be disastrous.
I think this does bring up an important convo and they talked about this on pulp that jorge was clearly having a hard time backing it down and just settling for outside top the top 10 and getting through all the races. You can say youre gonna do it, you can believe it, you can try to do it, but once he was out on the track his instinct would kick in and hed be trying super hard.
That first race where he just about got the holeshot he got excited and started riding way over his head and it looked super sketchy and dangerous. He almost died muuuultiple times and he did end up crashing. His instinct is to push to stay up front though and its hard to want to back it down when youre up there. Hes had a lot of big crashes this year including before the season where he missed the media day cuz he had a massive black eye. Its not really in a champions instinct to be ok with not riding up with the top guys so I’m not sure what can be done to keep him off the ground.
Just hope he's healthy for a good run on the outdoors? More guys in the mix the better

I've got no insider knowledge but I'd suggest he's dislocated it at least a few times or maybe it was 'out' for a long time the first time.. Which makes it all loose and easy to come out.. Like grabbing a net!
So they'll do a 'stabilisation' where they tighten all the ligaments and tendons to make it all new again.. Heaps of rehab to make it really good but with everything at his disposal he COULD be back quicker than usual

Don't see anything wrong with being curious as it would affect his recovery time that's all we're trying to find out! Hopefully he can make it to the outdoors where he belongs!

I thought Lewis had said somewhere that this was first time he'd had a shoulder injury. Surgery certainly makes sense if this is a repeat thing but if it's first time out that's not usually what happens, so maybe something concerning on MRI or it has been an issue before?
Or maybe they learned their lesson on AC.

Shoulders can be tricky. Depending on damage I've seen them good-to-go in 3 months, others can take 6 months. But being an athlete he should have all the best surgeons and PT guys at his disposal. It all depends on the extent of the damage.

I don't understand all these unrealistic expectations for this young man. All this is new to him, even the outdoor races - the format, the tracks. I never thought 10-15 in SX would be bad for him, maybe top 5 outdoors. But so many see him top 5 indoors, challenging for wins outdoors, just doesn't seem fair. DV's assessment seems realistic.
Oh it might've I didn't actually see it happen (if there is video) but either way it didn't sound like it took a lot to dislocate it..

Right. So many people were saying podiums by the end of the year. SX is brutal. Brutal! I think most of us bleed mx in here. Sx is great but we're all waiting to see The Great Outdoors. That said, the surgical precision that sx requires is mind bending. The most razor thing margins between results and a ride on the mule. It can't be understated how different a transaction has to be for even a world class rider like Prado. Jumping in with the big dogs

Stupidcross claims another one. I know the genie’s out of the bottle, but it sure would be better for the riders and sport to add motocross and subtract supercross rounds, instead of going the other way.
According to his FB, this shoulder has been bothering him for 3 years already, and now was the right time to finally undergo the long-planned surgery. If surgery goes well he will be good for outdoors.

Sounds like he screwed over Kawasaki if he knew he needed the surgery for a few years now.
This "professional" sport, screws its self. Because it is one of the few sports where there is no fysical checks before signing contracts. Soccer, NBA, MLB, ... All those players get completely turned inside out before signing. In SX/MX one of the most injury impacted sports, team doesn't do it.
What difference would it make? It’s not as if there’s a long line of championship contenders ready to take the spot if the guy in front of you fails a medical.
