I don't think gypsy is defending Lucas, nor am I.  I think he is just pointing out there there are a milion scenarios that can be twisted to use in court and ANYTHING can happen with a jury.  Stupid little things like a simple text message from Lucas to the Lawrences like "Hey guys, I have an opportunity to meet with the GM of Gucci to discuss sponsorship/fashion.  I think we have a good shot but it might take a little greasing"....Lawrences respond "Hell yeah, make it happen".

Then Lucas proceeds to fly to Italy and spend 60k to meet with them all while having his own vacation.  

In a court, couldn't there be a reasonable doubt with a jury when his defense makes a very solid case that Lucas was given the green light to "grease the wheels" and do what's necessary to sign the lavish deal?

There are jsut so many scnenarios that can be made up by these attorneys, which is what gypsy was referring to as "misunderstandings".
