Where did this info come from?
Yes bikes are owned by the company. It sounds like they are looking for any funding they can before another lay off wave hits NA.
Inside source. One of the few employees left.
How many bikes? Vital group buy?

An ever bigger concern for me would be they are having a fire sale before D-day that is this week and have no confidence the court will allow them to continue operations.
2024 or 2025?
Please post more info, when you have it. What auction co., date, inventory, ect. Thank you.
You need to be a dealer to buy new bikes at auction.
If you’re seriously looking for something, after they list the models that will be available, let your dealer know what you are willing to pay for the model you are looking for. If he can find it for less than what you offered, he can buy it for you. You’ll get the deal you wanted, and the dealer might still make a few bucks. Win/win.
I call bull shit on this. Be a better decision for brand value to crush or dismantle excess stock like Yamaha did in the 70s. Who is your source?
Yamaha was a different deal. KTM is trying to raise all of the cash that it can as fast as it can to stay solvent.
It would be a better for the creditors to sell them, for whatever they can get.
You questioning a guy with the user name Money, 2 week old account? I am sure his info is legitimate. 🤣
Unfortunately for them Pierer is still calling the shots. Keep in mind he wants them to agree to a promise for him to pay.
It would destroy not just the brand but the sport to auction or firesale off 100,000 new bikes. What would used bikes be worth for 5 years, let alone new ones? What would it do to the aftermarket? Track use?
It's 130,000 new bikes, and yes short term it would destroy the market, and the brand, but that decision is up to the creditors, we'll know more after the 24th January and 25h February creditor meetings.
To be clear, restructuring is not some kind of lunatic demand by Pierer, it is in fact a very common outcome in Austria insolvency proceedings. The court will assess if restructuring is more beneficial than liquidation for the creditors, and of course creditors get to vote.
We don’t know the actual number held by KTM NA in their warehouses. The stated number may have been made up by a global aggregate that includes bikes being floored by dealers or just bike held by KTM AG.
The auction appears to be just bikes held in KTM NA warehouses.
They could maybe make a half billion on an auction that size? Considering they owe 3B?
Pit Row
We don’t have any credible info that backs up what money said.
Destroy the sport? If anything it would grow the sport if an influx of cheap bikes hit the market. With the way things are right now, getting to the track/trails for less money would be great
Leave it to you to call out the only person on this board giving us actual insider info.
He's pretty much batting 1.000 at this point in terms of KTM news
dude I'm not calling anyone out. I didn't say what he said wasn't true, just that he's the only source. I haven't followed every page of this thread so if he's provided other info that turns out to be true maybe this will too.
Probably a very bad sign if it does turn out to be true.
Which auction house are they using,NPA?
Are you referring to Money or MONEY.? They both seem disgruntled but one is throwing around some unsubstantiated rumors and even contradicting himself a bit. Not a bad idea to get some validation before taking one's word as gospel on the internet.
The L A freeways would be over run with e'm.
If they auction them all off, who can buy them? Does it have to be a KTM dealer? Can anybody buy them and sell them as new? What do all the current KTM dealers do if all the inventory is sold off?
They only ride bikes they stole…
Exactly what I was thinking if this is true this is a double whammy to the dealer no inventory to sell and what they do have won't be worth anything! If KTM destroys their dealer chain there's no chance!
Sounds like the deals may be a steal
