I have had many, many broken fingers.  None looked close to that bad.

That’s why I asked. I’ve never had broken fingers, but I have had those same two fingers have a bone bruise from the clutch lever clipping a tire pile and smashing them and that’s exactly how it looked.

No kidding that's gotta be a lot of anger to suppress, fuck I'd be beyond pissed. Win the opener and then have someone else's mechanic just fuck you because he couldn't yank his riders pit board fast enough. He 's a badass I hope he can come back and be in the hunt, but damn it's gonna be tough now.

This forever answers the question of whether Jo has the “dog” in him. 8 out of 10 people would park the bike and go to hospital after that 

Must have gotten jammed between Jo and the fence/barrier as the mechanic was pulling it back. 

He's got his own personality and doesn't have to run his mouth to be a badass or hide his injuries from his fans! Hope he makes it to next weekend!

I saw during the races that the mechanics with pit boards were behind a single barrier.

After this freak incident, maybe have two barriers between the mechanics and riders, so I can never ruin someone's season again.

I broke my pinky finger, right at the knuckle. Finger was pointing 180 degrees toward me. Didn’t break skin. Ugly. I laughed complete time, because I was in shock l

I read somewhere that the board might have been sideways so he took the narrow edge rather than the face, which would have deflected a lot more. 

Totally bummed for Jo as he is far and away my favorite 250 guy. No BS, humble, yet obviously has a sense of humor lurking there.

That’s 1 bad tape job on his pinky .  I watch him ride on press day he looked Great better than anyone.  It looks gnarly but I,ve had much worse . And had to work 7 days a week a month straight with broken fingers, hands , on the hhg rig.   I smashed the end of my middle finger off . That finger does a lot more than a pinky or next finger.  I would tape it better inject  the pinky & race. You only need index& middle finger to ride.  My pinky & next finger is numb threw  my hand . It doesn’t effect riding
