Not sure why anyone would be shocked IF the speculation about RC is true, he may be the GOAT on a bike, but he’s also the guy who threw a tanty and threatened to leave when penalised for a fuel infringement.
A penalty his peers and main competitors had already copped and just took it on the chin. RC threw a hissy fit that big he had the penalty overturned when no one else could.
His podcast episode that RC and RV spent most of lambasting and berating "keyboard warriors" tells me all I need to know about RC. Look we all know broadcasting is difficult, but so are a lot of proffessions, and RC's attempt at broadcasting is working as well as if he attempted to be an NBA center. Being pissy or insecure about folks noticing he is not fit for his career choice is not reasonable. He is tainting his image within the sport.
Given the NBC lineup, RC fits right in. Announcing is no easy task and RC has done a great job with it. Sadly he is the Madden of Moto.

Gonna run this by my therapist wife who has grown up with me watching RC race and now commentate, but I think this is pretty spot on. I thought RC had matured, but I agree, he has that same chip on his shoulder, despite all his success. I hope he continues to grow and mature, and that video with Blair is just him having a bad day.

My wife has studied as a psychologist, i know enough of the patterns… now in her PhD in neuroscience she has taken a big interest in Brain injury, and talks of MX being a major flag sport for it.
RC would have a lot going on, he took a load of hits at a developing age.
People come in all different shapes and sizes mentally. No point trying to make them all fit the same mold.
I know DB said there was some fracturing of the relationship between him and RC in his last year and a lot of this thread is about that but I don’t think RC is the main character here. DB said it all started in 2020 when there was a misunderstanding with one of his colleagues that got him in the doghouse with NBC from the start. Guess who joined the broadcast team in 2020…Leigh Diffey. Leigh Diffey is NBC’s golden boy, being the lead play-by-play guy for most motorsports on NBC, and I’m sure his word carries a lot of weight with the top dogs. I’ve heard Daniel talk about every other person he has worked with and he’s really only talked positively of them, even was nice about RC, but the only time I’ve heard him reference Diffey is on his Patreon podcast when they would say that they watch the races on mute when he’s announcing or the last time he was referenced DB said something along the lines of “I’m not touching that.”
DB was the fill in guy for Diffey and if he was getting all this praise from fans, I could see a certain “sensitive colleague” getting their ego bruised and doing what he could with his powers to keep DB below him as a part time SX only guy.
I see what your saying, but bullying colleagues because of your insecurities is ordinary.
RC needs therapy.

RC looked dead serious in that video, he looked like he was pissed at DB 100% for whatever reason. DB looked to me like he knew RC was pissed at him and knew why. DB knew what was going on and did not want to engage in any way. Would be nice to hear the other side of that story.

Why is Diffey their lead guy? He sucks massive hairy balls as a commentator. He brings no gravitas and dribbles on about irrelevant shit like Will Christian.
For some reason I think he just gets stiff and stuffy when he's on more "professional" shows, but when he feels like he can let his hair down, he actually comes across quite well IMO.
I've listened to some podcasts that RC's been on like We Went Fast, Winner's Take Ya'll, etc and thought, "Wow, this sounds like a totally different guy."

It may be that the NBC executive at the time that DB was having a fractured time with RC was getting coached by RC. That Blair's Breakdown, where RC came in hot at DB in front of a bunch of people he was supposed to be taking on a sponsored track walk, was pretty dramatic and over the top. I mean RC could have just ignored DB right?
At the very least it’s workplace interference and grounds for termination.
The actual sad part about all this is regarding DB himself. We all have goals and some of those goals motivate us to be the best in the field or try to get there. I know that DB wanted to be a college football play by play announcer. He brought it up several times on the podcast over the years and it seemed to be a real motivator for him since he has a great knowledge of college football. It's too bad that this happened.
It occurs from time to time people on Vital post up , "you wouldn't say that to his face." . Yes we would, most of us. In relation to that, RC knows of this forum, why doesn't he respond to his critics?
I have no clue what actually happened but my gut tells me that it's completely plausible that RC got jealous or annoyed with the overwhelmingly positive feedback that DB was receiving juxtaposed with the criticism that RC receives. From there, it's not a huge leap to see RC undermining him with management. I think there are a few examples of him souring with people in the past over less.
