A person striving for something often seems happier than a person who has it all. Achieving lofty goals can actually make you feel rather empty. Maybe he needs to be knocked down a bit so he can work his way up. People who can stay on top consistently for extended periods and maintain their mental fitness and motivation are a special breed.
The vast majority of the people I talk to agree with my take. They liked them, but they are sick of them. Never in the history of our sport has a rider been so over publicized.
The Lawrence’s and Feld are to blame, they over saturated the market with them and everyone is sick of them.
I love watching him ride, and in 2020 even thought he was funny, but then they just took him and shoved them down our throats.
It’s not that I dislike him, I don’t, but I don’t need to see him, his brother, or his dad being interviewed during a race, and I’m so sick of their story being mentioned, ok we get it, they sold everything to move to Europe, cool.

Makes you wonder if everything was sunshine and rainbows outdoors until they put SX settings in the suspension. Lord knows how stiff that must be; maybe it doesn't agree with the chassis?
But it's also kind of hard to believe they didn't do SX testing with it and have a good setup (or at least know they had some work to do to get there).
Whatever it really is, I'm sure they'll tell us it's an electrical issue. 😄

Well, to be clear…I’m a fan and I think anything that’s wrong with the bike is on the bloke that chose the settings.
As for those saying the Hondas looked stiff? Who knows? (Showa techs know!😂) But, I know one of the green bikes looked stiff as hell and that bike had a really good night.

Some people can get away with it and you like them for it. Hannah was one of them. That type of talk from Jett doesn't suit him....I remember the nice kid who everyone loved going after Ferrandis and eating shit trying so hard. The 2025 SX preview show....that kid is GONE.
Deegan is definitely cocky/mouthy...it's a bit like how Hannah was, but it doesn't make you like him..

Bradshaw? Bradshaw had hype, Pastrana had hype, a lot of riders had hype, none of them were on camera running down stairs during a 250 main. None of their dads where interviewed during a race.
But the bike look fantastic in SMX rounds. And to me, most of SMX was SX-heavy obstacles. And that was with little time to dial it in, coming off of outdoors. I know that's still not exactly the same but MX and SMX made that bike look perfrct for the Lawrences. So, I just am not sure that it's bad, or just a bad night. They may just have not hit the set-up for A1. And may have some more rough rounds this year. That's common. Also, I remember reading that the stock '25 frame was supposed to mimic the '24 HRC bike, where they would reinforce that frame. So that's what is kind of weird that they are having trouble. It's almost like the perfect situation where they tried to make the new bike a starting point that was based off of Jett's race bike from the prior year. Not saying there can't be problems but I just find it all interesting. And, it's only 1 round. I guess we will see if he looks dialed in the 2nd round.

Agreed. Problem is the lack of info, so we just speculate - we don't know how they had it set up for SMX (since I don't know how much SX testing they did in the chassis development and if that gave them some ballpark specs) but we do know they ran it outdoors just prior to those races and had the MX settings worked out. So, my first inclination is to think they had a MX-style setting (only because I don't have additional info to sway my opinion).
And yes, we'll know more going forward and it definitely has me curious to see what shakes out. I'm also waiting to see if they get the start electronics sorted like they had them last year. Shortly after the Honda rep made the statement about how they had been working on getting the starts dialed, the two of them had statistics-defying start results that pointed toward something more than superior technique. Better living through technology? And everyone knows 90% of the race is the one to the first turn.
But hey, for all we know it's a problem between the ears. 😄

Well put…and that has me wondering how serious they took the off season compared to the top contenders. Jett ran fast hot laps in qualifying on that “problem” bike…but that’s not 20+1. Chase is in awesome shape and Eli feels as good as he ever has. Their bikes are pretty dialed. If it was a missed setting on the bike then that can be a quick fix. If it’s conditioning…that’s much harder to fix once the season starts. Like you said…I guess we will see if he looks dialed in the 2nd round.
I think people make too many judgements based on one race. Jett will be fine.
