'19 WR250F I bought new at the start of 2020.

Photo from is from last month, I've done three races since.

Oil filters last ages. I do 1 every 7-8 oil changes.

My 2013 150SX . Aftermarket crankshaft destroyed whole bottom end and I had to rebuild her with a salvaged bottom end with new bearings and oem crankshaft. Piston replaced every 30 hours

The double sided tape on my meter fell off two weeks ago, at around 40hrs, I zip tied it to the back of the shroud, pulled it off to clean today and now it says this lol

It was just sarcasm. I replace mine every other oil change and sometimes every oil change depending on the riding I did. But that’s just me and what I prefer to do.

YZ450F 2020

90 hours at the moment. Bought it a year ago second hand when it had 75 hours. I just didn't see any reason to have a brand new bike in my current life situation when i can't find more time to ride and stopped racing in 2021.

Used to be a little hung up on having a current generation bike, but with 59 hours on an old 17 350 at the moment, I actually like the look and feel of this platform and can't see a need to change it up with my non-existent skill or riding time.

Real keen to add a two stroke again though, either new KTM FI 250 or something retro and Japanese.

I've just gone through my 4 log books ( misplaced one for a while, could only find three after a Grand Nephew 'explore' in the Workshop ) that I've kept on my CRE500 in my avatar.

Ks are totaled up to 33,000, Hours are approx 1750.

Though, I'd say it's far, Far more on both numbers, as I've often missed some days records, and lost K and Hour readings on the various odometers it's had.

Not hard to do on a bike I've had since 2002. Some years it's ridden quite a few times a week, but I've had years (like this one) with bugger all riding, due to illness, injury or work.

I think it's gone through 6 or 7 pistons (they're all in a box I can't reach at the moment) , 1 re-bore, no bottom ends. Though, I've long had bearings, rod etc waiting for a rebuild, if it carks it, or I finally get / track down a wide ratio gearbox.

It's the most reliable bike I've Ever had , other than it being a bloody 'kettle'. As in, boiling over, at the drop of a hat, in tight stuff. That took a variety of attempts to cure, over some time. Though, I'm yet to have a lemon of a bike - my Maico 320 was perilously close to being that, with the bloody SEM ignition problems it had.

I'm good at taking care of things with upkeep / maintenance, and mechanical sympathy, but , conversely, I'm not much of a one for 'pretty'.

It's had a zillion and one mods done to it, over all these years though. Entirely new front end, and rear suspension for example.

Update: 360 hours and still going strong, although I’ve replaced just about everything on this bike besides the engine, frame, and seat at this point. . .

I've been running your sticker for good luck.

I average 200hrs a year, and look to sell my bikes at that point. With injuries my last couple have been a bit less. 21 450 with 80rs, 21 250 with 70hrs, then ive put a bunch on my 690. Selling a bike with less than 100hrs hurts, you take a bigger loss in my experience.

I’m at 80-90 estimated on a 21 kx450, No hour meter. Seeing this thread makes me happy because I’m going for 200 now. I can’t upgrade the bike only side-grade as the bike is set-up unreal to me. Took many hours to figure it all out. Chain length sag, clamps, valving, firm seat foam. Mapping. And then little all the tricks to lighten the bike to save weight.
I’d like to get a yz250 but it’s all that setup with a new bike. My 21 kx has been the best bike and it’s running strong.

i guess im the only one with a 2008 WR450F with over 300 hours on the original motor. i still ride it to the edge of hell. im not going to rebuild unless i absolutely have to. its a trail bike so i doubt its ever been ridden to hard outside of my owner ship.

Cool thread .. main riders:   2024 KTM 350SFX: 50hrs just pulled shock out for a service at Factory Connection

2023 KTM 300SX : 120hrs this is my do it all bike…original top end & clutch replaced at 100hrs. currently setup for Gncc/ woods

When I”m feeling nostalgic : 1993 Honda CR125 30hrs since full chassis service and top end, bottom end is all OG

1996 Honda CR250: 30hrs since full race build. Full TMR engine Broke a trans gear at 10hrs, finally found an NOS 3rd gear, rebuild again, 20hrs ass kicking hrs since.
.                                             2001 Yamaha YZ250: .5 hrs since new top end and crank bearings. Injured 4 months last summer, never got a chance to get it dialed in…. Forks need work…. Goals for 25: ride YZ more!

My '06 YZ250 has at least 100 hours on it. I don't know, because I don't run an hour meter. Still rocking the original bottom end with no noise and no up-down play in the rod.
The rest of the bike is a barely-rolling roach, but the motor is solid.

EDIT: I say "at least 100" hours, but it could be as many as 200-300. I seriously don't have a clue.

I'm going to update my answer. My son's 125 has an hour meter, and I've been riding with him lately, so I can compare the hours. I must have closer to 750 hours on the 250, based on the 125's clock. We have 30 on that thing already!

110-115 hours on a 2020 KX250F.

Doing a full top end (valve seats re cut, new valves, new piston, hone cylinder) while it’s cold out and hopefully will be riding by spring.

Life is too expensive right now and I’ll have to wait another couple years before I get a new bike. For now this one works great and I don’t mind wrenching on it.

$1000 in parts and I have a bike that’ll last me 2 more years is better than $7000+ on a new one with money I don’t have

250 hours a year every year for the past 20 anyway. 250 2 stroke KTM/Huskys new top end second year, get a new one every third or fourth.
