19 yz450 18-20ish Feb 2019

Can’t ride for 6 more months so they will be fresh for quite a while

Will likely sell the TC for a 250f within a year

2019 GasGas XC250. 19 hours...I need to ride more. The single track that is around is so beat out (holds water even after 3 weeks of no rain,) its hard to get motivated to spend the 2 hour round trip to ride it.

51 hours on my 19 CRF250R.
Just did piston and rings. Didnt need to, but broke my arm so took the time off to refresh the whole bike. New injector, sprockets, chain, and refreshed suspension. Greased linkage and steering stem. Polished the frame into a mirror. New plastics and graphics are in its future. Might find some other things to do because I am BORED Laughing

I typically buy a previous year leftover bike, run a bike for about 4 seasons, roughly 200hrs, then sell and look for something new again. I'm a lighter woods guy so I stick to 125s, 150s and 200s and do a top end every off season.

I'm currently at about 80hrs on my 150XC-W and riding a lot more moto then usual. Debating either selling it early and setting up a SX150 for woods/moto or just picking up a used 250f and having separate woods/moto bikes. Not sure how this will shake out yet but will for sure effect my historic buying patterns.

Might even just look into a cheaper 125 to use for a moto bike, mainly just want to ditch the PDS on the moto tracks.
We have all three of these options:

1) my son races his '19 150 SX in western enduro, hare scrambles, and "riding". He's currently won every enduro he's entered (16 and under Big Wheel) along with Overall C 4x. The SX is a great western enduro machine (we have a '19 250 XC tank on it, but that's all). He uses the 250F for MX.

2) I ride my 125 in MX when I want to ride for "fun". The 50+ class, for instance.

3) I'm faster on the 250F and I ride it for MX where I want to sort of compete- the 250 B class, for instance.

Point being... an SX can be quite competitive off-road and you don't give anything away on an MX track. I personally thought VERY VERY hard about a 250 XC as a do-it-all bike but I wanted to ride the 150 first (having never had either a 150 or a KTM). I'd also have zero problems riding my KX250F in any of the Colorado hare scrambles as they tend to use a lot of MX track and be pretty fast.

Just FYI, here's son on the 150 SX so you can see the terrain:

Here's play riding on the same:

I'm at 155 on my 2017.5 KTM 450, you are in good shape. I bought minet at 140 hours vet owned first owner original top end. I put in a top end and timing chain to be safe, but what was in there looked fine, ribbing still on the piston!

The stock KTM clutch is a nice unit. Mine lasted a good while.

I'm impressed the hour meter made it that long.

2019 kx450 102 hours. Got it brand new at the end of November of 2019. Planning on doing a top/bottom end in the next 10-15 hours. Planning on riding it till bike prices come back down.

I wish I knew. My Yamaha WiFi isn’t working on my 2018 450. Approx 40-50 hours I’d estimate.

Back in the old days, we used to use more organic methods to calculate the age of a bike. In this case, we might have to wait a bit longer but should be able to count the tree rings at some point or other. And yes, that little pine seedling is alive and well inside the old Mikuni.

Some people put 40 hours on a bike and then sell to buy a new one to do all over again. Some will put 300-400 hours and then finally retire it as a back up bike and pick up a new one. Which one are you?

My 125 has about 160 hours on the frame and 20 on a fresh top to bottom end, my 150 was about the same before I tore it down.
700hrs on a 16 KTM 350xcf...

Who would want to buy it?

Wow! I would imagine you are pretty meticulous with your service knowing the level you ride, Do you notice a difference in the bike with that many hours? Doesn't handle the same even when you've serviced your suspension and pivot points on the chassis? Any dents or gouges in the frame?

No, bike still feels super tight...

At the moment I don't have a bike but was asked to guide a couple guys from out of town around my riding areas. I bolted on my suspension (the bike has been my wife's the last 2yrs) and spent 3hrs on the bike yesterday. Considering it's 700hrs on the original motor, clutch, etc, the bike still runs flawlessly! Bike starts instantly, a bit of cam chain slap but quiets as she build pressure... It does feel slightly under powered more then I remember but isn't burning oil or such.

Frame is mint, rads are mint, exhaust was mint too until about 2 weeks ago when my wife crashed in a moto race and put a slight dent in it. Doesn't leak oil from anywhere...

The smooth lip of the rim has worn over the years and you could now cut butter with it. I do feel the hubs are wearing out as bearings (even new) seem to have a slight bit of play. Otherwise, the 350 has been an excellent bike.

The only thing I was struggling with yesterday was a combination of timing and fitness (I am beat to shit today). As I rode things started to come together but I missed some breaking points and some rutted up hills that I could usually clean I was dog paddling up...
