Hey @quadzrulebro  did you install gold valves yet? I swear I saw somewhere on the forum that you ordered them and were going to diy?

And oddly enough, I think the Brembo front brake is one of the most noticeable improvements from my previous gen bike.

Where are you riding tomorrow?

I bought a 24, KX450 over the phone this afternoon.  Can't pick it up until after the first, its 5 ish hours away, a little over 2 hrs from my lake house.  I didn't do as good as some posted above.  I got OTD for 7720 which I think is a good deal in my neck of the woods, that and the only 24 I found.  But I didn't put much effort into looking either.

I'm not saying a deal can't be made or found in the Houston area but typically sell on the high side in and around the big H.  Therefore I looked out of town.  The Houston area oil money, high paid refinery and chem plant workers keep prices up.  Oil money all over Texas keeps prices up.

One dealer down the Gulf Freeway (I45) did not have a 24 KX450 but shot me a price at 9.7k OTD for a 25.  Which might be about as good as a guy can do Houston area on 25 this time of year, but and thats just a guess.

I’m not.  Have the bike torn apart currently and it is too cold to ride, anyway.

8000k would have been hard to pass up for a 25.  If I’d shopped out of state or further away I could have found a better deal.  I took the best deal I ran across within driving distance.

Now I have a good excuse to load up the 32 pound weenie dog Hank and head to the lake house near lake Sam Rayburn.   It’s 3 hour drive to Rayburn Country.  Get up the next morning, drive 2:15 min drive to dealer in Longview Texas.  Wife said she doesn’t want to go so be a fun few days for me and moto dog Hank!

slip on installed, sounds amazing and for sure opens it up a bit. I also have the screen eliminator and I might drill some holes into the air box cover next. My twin air filters will be here Saturday.

What map are you running with the slip on

Best you’ll find from my local dealership

$8298+560 sales tax + 99 doc fee = $8957 OTD right now

Looking at getting ti pegs as well. Let us know what you get, raptor peg teeth look so tall. I wonder if they affect ride height.
I wish works connection had Ti footpeg brackets, could save half a pound just in that. Those stock guys are unbelievably heavy.

Similar design as the raptor. Any chance if you notice you ride a bit higher because of the tall teeth?

If so just move the pegs to the lower position

No I don’t believe they are taller just deeper cut teeth.

Already at the lower position lol so don’t want to negate that with some tall teeth.

I'm using the pro pegs. Work great. Bought through works connection with the pulpmx discount code.

I despise the stock pegs.  Raptors are maybe a mil or 2 taller… maybe.  They do cant up slightly more on the tips, effectively making “toes in” easier in my opinion. I’m 6’2, and run the mounts in the low position with stock offset raptors and have no complaints.  They are absolutely better than the anemic stockers.

There are a lot of similar pegs out there, not to mention the chinesium ti versions, but I put a lot of trust into my pegs, so raptors were the easy choice once you get past the price….

I found the holdover pricing too good to be true also.  I think the 24 handles much better with far better front end feel and the ability to take inside lines easily.  The front brake is also noticably better imo.  I just found the motor weird with it not being able to really pull 3rd.  The vibration is much more annoying compared to the 22.  I also like the KYB forks on my 22 SR much better.  I did  FMF exhaust, the airbox mods, a 51 tooth rear sprocket and a vortex.  I also put the KYB's and X-trigs on from the SR.  I haven't ridden yet after making the changes.  My riding impressions was bone stock.

While I don’t hate my front brake, I prefer 280mm setups that I’ve had on previous bikes. So… since they don’t make a 280mm carrier for the brembo, I am creating a winter project- mount up a new take off nissin with a motostuff 280mm to see if I can’t make it to my liking. The brembo isn’t bad, but I think I can come up with somthing I line better…. At least I hope so!

Why wouldn’t you just put Nissin back on the bike ?

I’d put cm46 pads In the brembo first see if that doesn’t scratch the itch.

There are definitely oversized brembo rotor options too. Tm has oversized options 280 if I remember right.

Good info.  Thanks.  I already have a 280 motostuff kit and scored a new nissin setup cheap from the bay so that’s how I’m gonna go for now.

If I can verify a tm hanger would work I’d defiantly try that.  I’m not into it for much money, and since I’ll have complete front brake setups swapping will be a breeze.

Again, the brembo is fine, but I’m a front brake abuser due to poor riding technique- and like testing and trying new things.

Off to research a tm hanger…

And for those on the fence on pegs, go for the raptors.  Soooo much nicer!

Question out there for anyone running the Ride Engineering Clamps....do you happen to know if there are any other brand bar mounts rather than the OEM or the Oversized Ride Clamps? I put the clamps on back in October and feel like since I started using the Ride bar mounts, i seem to get arm pump quicker. I was thinking something along the lines of the xtrig or the luxon bar mounts. Any insight would be cool! Thanks

I run the Ride engineering bar mount with the stock clamp. I have not noticed any change per say as they are still rubber mounted. I like the fact that my bars don’t get twisted up now.

I've been running the XC Gear Mako 360 bar clamps for the last several years.  Super strong, bars don't get twisted and I feel an improvement in small bump absorption.  Keefer had a test where he wasn't as positive on them, but I'm a big fan.
