People can bitch about the broadcast and all that, but I'm happy there's just racing to watch at this time of the year. I liked the track was big, not real technical but the dirt breaking down made it a technical track and had separation.

Also Eli looked great out there, his starts were on point and we all know how fast Kenny is at these type of races with his sprint speed. And Eli worked him, and these are the track conditions he struggled in sx this year. So I'm excited to see him keep progressing in to next year's SX series.

Feels odd watching a race where there isn’t 25 monster logos in each frame

Not going to lie, after being at the race then watching it when we got home, omg did they miss A LOT. The last race of the night ET3 was wheeling the entire whoop section, lap after lap, it was unreal.

That was insane! Great races! Havent watched the broadcast-

It was a fun race. Cheap beer as others mentioned (especially with the exchange rate) and it was a different schedule which was fast-paced. Eli wheelie-ing the whoops was incredible to see. He's looking good

Figured ET3 would get better every race and Kenny would fade a bit (that's their MO). Great entertainment and happy to see our neighbours from the south attending and checking out what BC's largest city has to offer. See you guys in Seattle.

No excuses from Roczen:

“I am not as good as Eli right now but it’s a great opportunity for me to learn and improve myself over the next few weeks. I am excited to put in some work with the team and personally as well to be a step further coming into Perth.”

I think the video production was OK. I picky as fuck, and look at a replay from lasy year and it's not good. But this was OK, or, I didn't get pissed or notice something bad.

But one thing, Ralph and Jeff just feel like the 90is. They are not up to speed. It wasn't good.

And of course, the field is not good. No competition. Almost would have been more fun without Roczen and Eli since we would see more battles and Vince going all in on a win.

Other than that, I kind of like that there is more starts. Race is reset. Can you imagine Eli for 20min running of with a 45sec lead?

And the superfinal! AMA SX just got to add it to some races per year (2 per coast?). Just figure it out.

Did anyone else catch that the lap counter was always wrong. It was showing how many laps were completed, not what lap they were on.

went to 8/8 as they crossed the line.

Timing was fucked up because the intermediate split wasnt picking half the riders up, so it was all over the place, that makes it hard work to follow, and hearing the crowd get loud while we are watching a battle for 12th for 4 laps was a tad annoying.

I've only watched a replay of the superfinal and I noticed that .  11 of 12 then Eli taking the checkers when it switched to 12 . WTF ?   Also the onscreen leaderboard was a mess .

I noticed the same thing too, they were counting the laps wrong. Normally lap 7/8 would be 2nd to last lap and then 8/8 would be the final lap. Instead they were counting 7/8 as the last lap and theyd wave the checkers right as it ticked over to the start of 8/8. So they werent doing the 8th lap cuz the flag waved right as lap 8 started. This is one of those small things that should be obvious but somehow it got overlooked. There was a good amount of little blips like that which were kind of makes the whole thing look amateur especially now that were 3 years in and they still cant get the small things right. I didnt see a lot of improvement tbh it looked the same as it always has from day/year 1 where they get a lot of the little details wrong. Still glad we had some racing, but they need to clean it up, they were having these problems before by hiring new people at every round and it looks the same all this time later.

we had this same experience. We thought they threw the flag one lap early in that last race as we all figured Eli had 1.5 to go on that flat.

i just watched the recording of the races.....the leader board was a mess....riders dropping all over the board back and forth like it was a lottery board.

from second to last or last to first

to watch this  broadcast was horrible....i hope they step it up

congrats to Tomac finish with a flat at super final

That was mostly in the superfinal when it couldnt handle, Roczen and Anstie both having number one...

In their defence the National has been a disaster for a decade

This year is a clear out of the executive board... a whole new team. They got the big stuff right.  A good track, a sane racing format, no longer overlapping with US Supercross, two top riders for the whole series, the previews and marketting is sane and not just marketting fluff, the CEO is humble and on the broadcast says they are taking it race by race...

The MX Nationals had a decade of timing and scoring dramas... it took them a decade to fix it... So cut em some slack...

The small things are the final tweaks, focussing on the small thing was where the previous management failed -- they focussed on the signage and hype up videos and that diabolical on bike camera thing while the format was dumb, the tracks were bad and the presentation in person (i went to Melbourne twice) was confusing and weird.

Ralph said McElrath won the inaugural WSX championship in 2022. And he also said Jeff Emig was the 1996 WSX champion. I'm confused

I went. I’d say attendances was around 15,000-20,000. The capacity of B.C. place is 55,000 with the upper level open, for this event and most, like MLS it’s closed. I thought is was pretty well attended when the gate dropped. I was expecting worse. Whole thing wasn’t an AMA level production but who expected that? I had fun and was stoked to see a real track (not arena cross)

Heard from someone involved that the attendance was over 18,000 and that the WSX group was really happy with that.

Hopefully that shuts a few people up. I’ve never understood the criticism. Other then looking cheap, what’s the problem?

Ralph was busy thinking about man bodies and alligators.

Also, what do you expect?  Ralph doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

If they are they need to be fixing that, if they are there , they need to be seeing the action, i dont think there is any stadium where that doesnt happen.

If you are remote, you cant help that, but second chair guy should be looking out of the window to help direct the director. Tell them where the leaders are when they lose them.

Every rider interview I’ve heard or read absolutely despises a standard tuff block due to the injuries or carnage they create, mostly from randomly getting kicked onto the track.

Some takeaways;

- “Glacial Till!”

- “Chaos Corner!”

- Vince still doing Vince things but the other riders got better at dealing with him

- broadcast was pretty rough across the board but i kinda wasn’t expecting much here

- not showing the points standings throughout the event really should be addressed (I watched replays on YouTube so maybe they did in between motos and I just didn’t see it) but the announcers didn’t talk about it either

- Sure, Tomac and Roczen are getting paid but they are both still coming back from some time off and I’d imagine gate drops and a paycheck seem more appealing instead of pounding out laps at a test track, especially in the tail end of their careers. Curious how they will feel come A1 compared to boot camp/just practicing vs. racing this series

- Kristen > Will …..there, I said it
