I rode one last Tuesday night. There were four of us that took turns on it, and not a single one of us would have given up the bikes we currently own for it. It's not that special.

do you have a unbiased opinion? only reason i ask is we have a buddy who thinks green is the best no matter what and wont even look or try other bikes. even ones far better than his.i only ask because im in the market for a new bike this year

Saw an IG Reel that said “spinal tap” on it with a dude riding downhill MTB. So the last thing I thought was this being an old thread lmao.

Wonder where these fellas are these days

This is too funny. Went along reading the thread, and surprised some were not happy with the new 25 bike till I saw it was that steaming pile 09...🤣🤣🤣. Pushing 40 now still remember Hondas "updated" new 450 in 2009. Sad times.

Why did you resurrect this thread?

Troublebros obviously had no clue.  The new Honda he rode in September of 2008 was probably the biggest step backward for any manufacturer in the history of motocross.

Once again I am asking you to not diss my beloved 09-12 Honda. A few tweaks and it was a great bike.

I dunno…I spent a lot of time around a very prominent Honda team in the pits during that era, and I heard a very different story from the one you’re telling…

As far as pro speeds go, I can't comment on how good the bike was. Reed seemed to love it though. I'm saying for the average Joe, too many people hated on it for very very easy to get around issues.

The clutch did fade horribly at first, but a coworker found that if you just overfilled the trans side with oil by about 350cc, it stayed cooler and didn't fade (I also am not a big clutch abuser). I never once had an issue with gas in the oil because I didn't go BRAPAPAP BRAP BRAP BRAAAAP as soon as I started it up like a lot of people did. Turn the idle up, no flame outs. Stiffer fork springs and a different link, I loved that bike.

Haha! I had no clue either. One of my biggest regrets was getting off my perfectly set up '07 RMZ for the new Honda

Now we know getting off a perfectly set up anything for a new scooter is a step backward unless you need one.
