Who was the rider that said on a podcast that Webb is notorious for cutting over on the start?

What was Stew doing?  It's a practice start, you're off balance and don't have control.  Why keep sending it that deep into the turn?

Not sure of Ando’s condition but thankfully that hit was on sand.  Had that been on hard pack…

It’s pretty clear that he did not expect Webb to cut over so aggressively. I wouldn’t expect Webb to cut over like that either on a practice start.

It’s unimaginable to me how anyone can watch the video and not put 100% blame on Webb.

21 cut over also.  27 is lucky not to have a broken leg.

There was a turn, all of the riders on the outside will "cut over" to make the turn. If you're behind someone you're responsible for slowing down if they move over in front of you...

I dont think anyone was being aggresive. Looks like malcolm went hard on the frontbrake and got a case of the wobbly britches

I am sure they will have corn hole or Tag on tv for you to watch so you dont have to watch motorcycle racing, I am sure you can go to your safe spot and watch cartoons instead. 5d167663b834f1f8f7a6c10c2ad2c7f26764ed60 1.jpg?VersionId=EkRWlbX6ofY

Tell me you've never raced without telling me you've never raced.

Based on your logic a rider should not get his front wheel next to the rider ahead of them as cutting over and taking out front wheels (before they can take your advice and slow down) should be the expected.

Taking out front wheels like that is a different kind of racing

I find it just laughable that SX keeps doing these kind of practise starts. Just have a 5 minute session with the gate down so that the riders can do multiple starts individually in their own pace from different spots on the gate.

As for the actual situation, the majority of the blame is on Webb. He would be absolutely furious if somebody would cut that aggressive infront of him in a practise start that would end up in a crash like that.

I love it. Just some boys ready to race..just getting reacquainted. Bummer though....no doubt Ando, Plessinger, and Stew will be somewhat affected.

Welcome back Webb.

It’s a joke that they have a full day for practice and yet can still only find the time for 2x 10 minute practice sessions for each group, and no proper start practice.

That knock that AP picked up was extremely avoidable. Give them proper start practice, it only needs to be 10 minutes. The whole point of doing start practice is so that the riders aren’t heading through it for the first time in a race situation. Yet the start practice they’re given is a racing start? It makes absolutely no sense

....well, these guys crashed in the flat start straight....and Anderson went down on a pretty flat sand section when compared to Southwick, so there's that.

All two wheel motor sport has high risk and is dangerous....cornhole on the other hand might suit ya all better....hahahahahaha

When did it become acceptable to build race tracks that have solid concrete walls within 2ft of the edge of the track for most of the lap?

Do we need someone to get seriously injured or worse before we start taking this stuff seriously? This track is dangerous

When they found out they could charge $200 a ticket and $400 for camping it became acceptable to look the other way at any risk to the racers…are you not entertained???

It was a racing incident in a non racing situation that some of the guys were treating as a racing situation. Mookie didn’t expect Webb to come over that hard and Webb didn’t expect that to be the outcome.

I put it on the riders. Treating it like a real race start is a choice they are making.

I thought the whole point of the starting grates was to make starts more uniform/consistent regardless of venue or position on the gate. In that case, I don't see what is to be gained by replicating the most dangerous part of the race. If nothing else, at least back out of it if your elbows aren't out in front of everyone once beyond the gate. On the other hand, I guess these guys didn't get to where they are by playing it safe.

Does anyone know if Anderson got up and continued riding after that? Or was he done for the day?
