Tommy, Conrad & Max .

These guys could actually get a decent result if they all ride to thier potential. Home track,  so they’ll have the backing of the home crowd and should be well up for it.

Max been riding well, Conrad’s been giving Herlings some heat in the British Champs and Tommy knows how to get the job done .

Feeling a little optimistic, I’m predicting an OA of somewhere between 6th - 8th.

Stoked for Max to be selected, question would be is Star sending a complete bike for Max or will he bring parts and suspension to put on a bike when he gets to england? Some additional information would be awesome to know how the logistics came together for him!

My 2nd favorite team hands down. All seem like pretty cool dudes.

Tommy pretty much ruled himself out a few weeks back, saying that he wanted to be in on merit, not a 'heart over head' pick, but after Hawkstone and the the VMxdN , where we interviewed him , he said he was up for it if he was picked , and felt his riding was at a level to justify the effort.  He has been solid every time he has been picked, and we need one result out of him, and the other two need to pull their weight.

Could podium, could be tenth, but there is no better team with Ben Watson out, which is all you can ask for.

Maybe the US should bring Mike Brown just in case somebody needs to battle with Tommy Wink

Which Mewse are we gonna get? Will he ride out of his skin and shock the world with a podium in a moto, or are we talking 23/DNF.

That's a big financial commitment from team GB, it's good to see they're serious.

It's the best team we've got and hopefully on the day they'll all rise to the occasion.

Lewis signed as Team Captain today as well, confirmed on Instagram. Whoever was behind that decision has brains. Look out USA and Australia

How much could it possibly be? 30K? 100K?

I've no idea, but there's bugger-all money in UK mx so even the lower figure would be a big outlay for one event. Also, it was a bit of a dig at some on here who say the biggest mx market in the world hasn't got money to "waste" on the MXDN, every year when it comes round 😉

Star asked for team France 50k or 60k for Ferrandis last year and they said no. So it must be around same pricing for team GB.

Thanks, and sorry for the ignorance, I guessed incorrectly on both last names, for the record. I've seen Searle, no idea who Mewse is, though.

That’s a ridiculous amount of money for one person to compete in a one weekend race.

Mewse is former wonder-kid. He should have been the next big thing but his mental wasn't 100% there. He showed flashes of greatness but unforrunately it wasn't enough. But he is great in the sand. I'm personally not that stoked on team GB. They should finish top10 but where is the next generation. Even in mx2. The days when in mxgp classes there were guys like searle, anstie, pocock, simpson, mackenzies, ebb, sword, etc.

Exactly, we have no one really coming through. What's ridiculous is that in the UK we have loads of 'trainers' (who never really achieved anything at world level) and all our best young riders are with them during the week. But those guys you mentioned seemed to make it just fine through sheer hard work with only their dad helping them or Dobb helping Searle for example.

The only 2 riders I can think of is Billy Askew & possibly Jamie Keith. Keith is fast on a 125 but switching to a 250F who knows.

i've not heard of Jamie Keith until quite recently but he had a fourth in race one in Arnhem in EMX125, which is quite impressive. Hopefully he'll get picked up by a team next year as it looks like he's running his own program at the moment.

I'm glad it's not just me that wonders where all these "trainers" came from. Especially when some were known for their slacking and partying when racing themselves.

I think a lot of people wonder the same thing. I guess if you want to be a world champion you train with a world champion but if you wanna finish 10th in the British then you train with someone who was 10th in the British.

The way it's going Tommy will be on the team for the next MXdN at Matterley, and I don't mean this years...

Seems it's not just the UK lacking young talent as Estonia's team is Harri Kullas, Gert Krestinov, and Tanel Leok...
