I was literally laughing out loud at that.  James was awesome in the booth today.

The least expected part for me was him cheering on chase. I gained so much respect for him when he did that. He was awesome today.

James was awesome yesterday and seemed overly uh-cited.  Yesterday was the first time where he seemed like he really gained his love for motocross back.  Said “track looked fun” in a tone that he maybe would have liked to spin a few laps on it.  James has been awesome and drops some serious knowledge between the jokes.  Thanks!

Only James can leave the broadcast trailer to cheer on the new champ on the last lap and not get fired by the producers!

James was killing me. Commentary was great.

“I see a baby out there” referencing Eli was top tier

Dude that shit is so funny and it’s so true! He does do that head tilt thing when he’s shredding.

Also, I know it goes against everything as an announcer to root on someone vs someone else but he was just cheering as a fan when someone finally was giving Deegan a challenge when Tom and him were battling for the lead.  Not that he’s against Deegan or rooting for Tom but just the fact that someone was battling with the dude that has been crushing them all summer. “Get some, Tom! Get some, get some!” That shit fired me up. Great racing yesterday.

They’d be fools to not keep him around as long as he wants to be there!

Something very similar happen at the Tour De France this year as well.

Exactly, I could never imagine corporate Carmichael leaving the booth and doing something like that

Hopefully someone at Peacock realizes how much better and more engaging James is than Ricky.  I’m a bigger fan of James since he retired from racing.

Anybody catch the segment with barcia having a new kid and Weege made a comment about the pits looking like a day care center. And James without hesitation says “yeah you gotta be careful going inside” I lost it

He comes alive with his best stuff when there is a battle. That Deegan Vialle battle was called so well

Stew is top shelf. We are all good at it sitting watching at home, picking up stuff quicker than the commentators…except not Stew. He sees it coming like from laps before. He has a sharp eye and a knack for calling it, whether seriously or entertainingly.
The best i can remember. Teamed with Weege, with JT adding in, i have Nil complaints.

Stew is by far the best color commentator that we have seen in the sport globally the last 20 years.

I love that he doesn't fake the excitement.  Just genuinely a fan and sincere.

If Malin has a guest I'm sure it would most likely be JT in the booth with him at the Nations, but it would be great to hear Stew in there also. Between Malin and Stew it might be like a comedy double act.

What impresses me the most is the number of time in a race that he calls a moves and it actually happens. And he sometime calls it 3-4 corners in advance. It’s a sharp contrast with Ricky who has a 3% success rate with his call « here comes the pass » 3 feet before the corner.

You can see a pass being set-up much better when you actually go to the races. It's much harder to see it on a TV broadcast, though.

James is good, he doesn’t seem to be trying to please corporate stuff, Just commentating what’s happening. Pretty refreshing after all the Ricky bullshit.
