Poll: Where does Roczen finish overall this weekend?

One of the best riders on one of the least performing bikes.  Thank you Kenny for adding something to this last race to make it interesting.

Since I'm a big fan, I'm going to be optimistic and say 3rd. He may do well below that, of course. Don't sleep on how lazy a 450 can make someone; even a rider of Roczen's skill. I fully expect the 250 regulars will give him a run for his money.

3-5 with relative ease.

There are some fast kids out there but this is the last race.  Its hard to predict who will be on the gas and who will be mailing it in... but maybe that is a more of a 450 thing.  I'm sure it could be start dependent.  Get a top 7 start and go for it or if you are mid pack... cruise mode and stay healthy for the bigger payday in 3 round smx playoffs.

I remember a 250cc USGP in like 1989 where as a full time 250cc class racer Jeff Stanton won the 125cc support class against Bradshaw
He only raced 125cc that day and only because at the time he wanted to race the 500cc USGP and you can only race one class
My point being a full time premier class racer could do quite well against the less experience guys

Big track, way easier to pass than say Budds. Starts top 10, he can podium. Pulls a top 5 start he can battle for the win. Its Ken Roczen for Gods sake.

If it was any other bike, I’d be on board with you.  HP is just so important in the 250 class, and that bike has gotten zero development in years.  Ironman ain’t exactly flat, either.  Lots of big hills the Kawasakis and Yamahas will be yanking him on.  I hope I’m wrong, because I’m a huge KR fan, but I think the power disadvantage will be too much to overcome.  I’ll be there and can’t wait to see him prove me wrong!

And considering his last interviews he is still having problems with his knee..

I just hope he pulls a holey, that would be sick.

Probably slots in anywhere between 3-7th would be my guess.

Brooks says BAR-X built the 2 bikes... if he pulls a holeshot or podiums, does it make the Bar X team more of a desired program? Roczen has done some great things for the Suzuki 450.

personally I think the Bar X team is awesome and has amazing looking bikes.

I hope he surprises us all and has been riding a 250f for a while and that his Dilla 450 ride was not as good as it could have been because of it. I would love to see him go out there and surprise us all and battle for a moto win.

I expect 5 to 10. But nothing would surprise me really. Just cool to see him out there and having fun after doing it at such a high level for so long and fighting back from multiple injuries that would have ended other racers careers. I'm very happy he is racing and bringing some excitement into the series. Kenny has to be  up  towards the top or at the top  of the list of guys that have overcome major injuries and came back to win races. If not for the arm injury , he just might have been dominating  for the past years.

Isn’t everyone saying Bar-X is going Yamaha for 2025? Would definitely make that decision more interesting that’s for sure.

The Bar-X bikes are at no power disadvantage. I’ve seen those bikes hit lines to clear triples that the “more powerful” bikes couldn’t hit. It typically would be the Star bikes and Bar-X 250s sending some harder to clear jumps that others wouldn’t. And maybe one PC bike

Garret Marchbanks dropped down to the 250 class at Unadilla and went 5-5 for 4th overall...

I'd think Kenny could do at least that good.

He'll finish in front of Tomac!

Start strong then fade back to 5-6

If Marchbanks can get a top 5, Roczen can be on the podium easily. But he better get good starts.

Roczen has enough for a podium....maybe a win.

Kenny will be out there having fun and taking whatever comes to him. But he is also savvy enough and enough of a gentleman that I doubt he fights too terribly hard with the top guys jockeying for SMX points. I really don't even see a podium overall but maybe one of the motos.

Roczen running 250's got me thinking.

It would be cool to see a split moto format (late 80's, early 90's) where all the top guys were in 250s for 6 rounds and 500s for 6 rounds (250/450 now). Or 5 and 6 for 11 total with SMX. Top tier guys like Deegan, Vialle, Shimoda mix it up with Sexton, Hunter, Jett. Yes, they may get waxed, but it would be great to get an early look at emerging talent. Back then the 125 stars (Ward, O'mara) worked their way into 250/500 and the 125's started to look more like a development class, even with Honda and Suzuki factory riders in 125's.

Then we could steal the EMX125 idea and go back to two strokes for 11 rounds for a development class; or 250 four stroke combine development class.

Yeah, would take away from two premier classes per day and television and "grow the sport" audience interests. Just seems there should be a 11 round long development class for emerging talent straight out of Loretta's. Top guys in 250's go to 250/450 National Class and developing riders have more of an exposure opportunity with less pressure, but the full exposure to a National series schedule grind.

Starts outside the top ten. Rough housed by a bunch of lunatic fringe kids going every which way. Lucky if he doesn't get trampled under knobbies. Could get inside the top ten if he's patient. Could get plowed and DNF. If I were gonna bet, I'd lean toward plowed and DNF.
