Is it time to band the air horns?

Its gonna be hard getting all them mafks to show up to practice but with the right conductor i think the air horn band can put out some hits knowmsayin

The band of frequency is quite annoying. Or maybe it’s the pitch. Dunno, not a sound expert.

Train horns need to be banned. Airhorns are ok for now.

All air horns must now be in G, C, and E.

There was a time when people just shouted YEAAAAH!!!!! on the fence line, now all you hear is all those airhorns and train horns. The air horns used to be just a foreigner thing, I would only hear them during the MXGP’s, now they have poisoned the nationals. Can barely hear the podium interviews, just a joke.

"I'll be honest . . . I coulda used a little more airhorn . . ."

 

I’ll just say this: if the relevant authorities are concerned about noise levels enough to sound test the bikes (and hand out penalties), then where are they on this issue?  
(The typical air horn is much louder than a dirt bike)

I had no intentions on going to Budds this year mostly because of cost and I had enough of the train horns last year but had an opportunity to be on the water crew which got me a weekend camping pass and 4 free tickets so I thought what the heck. I did have a cool spot in staging for the race so getting to see the race from that perspective was absolutely awesome. However the rest of the weekend was nothing but ignorant A Holes. Drunks flying on pit bikes, quads, etc in the pits all day and night. Fireworks at 2 am. The list goes on. And of course the nonstop train horns on race day. There’s no way in hell I would spend the kind of money they want to go hang out there again. I’m probably getting old but I’m over dealing with idiots ruining something I used to look forward to.

I said yes to banning them. But I actually just think that if they ban them being anywhere near the podium we are good to go.

I hope all of the horns don't band together, that could be really loud. Organized bands of horns could do a lot of damage.

Now if we considered a ban on bands of horns...

I think I'm just getting old. But do the horners pick up an air horn at their house and think "F yeah, this is going to be so fire"? And then they jump in their buddies pavement princess to head to the races - "Did you bring it?". "No cap, skibbity that rizz."

Man, fuck that. I say let fly. Chainsaws, whammy sticks, timbales, flags, people dressing up, bring them all. Podium speech? Couldn't care less to hear about thanking sponsors. Went to a few races in Europe and it was awesome. Imagine all that stuff going on INSIDE Bercy. Fuck, yeah. Similar to what it must have been like seeing Led Zeppelin at the Sports Arena in 1972.

Depends what color band.  If red, then no but if blue, then yes.  I'm undecided on purple at the monent.  

Ban any noise, let the engines tell the story that gets our blood flowing.  I don’t think riders wear ear plugs because of their bike.  On the 2 strokes they used to need to hear the bikes but I don’t know about 4 strokes revving it out.

I wouldn’t like them, if I was at the race, but they’re nice on the broadcast. 

I actually don’t mind when a band has a horn section

I attended mxgp after 7 years and don't see much difference during the timeframe. I get it that during night in camp it can be awful but generally i don't mind a short beeps and boops (less than 10 seconds) during a track down time or during sighting laps. That's fine in my book. The most annoyed i get is if someone is blasting jbl speaker thinking he is the shit while there is interview on the speaker around the track... chainsaws, airhorns, etc is fair game, ban the selfcentered dickheads.
