Just a question, obviously there is not a need for another national in the Michigan region but just curious of the caliber of this place, could the track handle it? Owners, parking, lodging etc...
It's an epic track, have Frankenmuth nearby for lodging perhaps.
Is it more sandy than Southwick?
Very deep sand.
Would love to see it on the schedule - one of my favorite tracks I’ve ever ridden.
Not sure about the logistics part of it.
Plus having one national in Michigan already kind of hurts the chances quite a bit I would think.
Completely agree with you. It would never happen just kinda wondering if it could handle it.
What about an SMX race? They don't all have to be sx style do they? I guess it's not in a major city so would never be considered.
Baja could host an epic national. The track speaks for itself, and the promoter is the right guy for the job. Only issue I see is it is a bit narrow as far as national track standards, but I’m sure that could be addressed.

Not trying to stir the pot as Michigan already has Red Bud, enough said.
However, Baja has some real street cred. Just fun to think about what if right?
Baja already has the "Baja Brawl" which is a pretty big amatuer national. I don't think the facility is big enough to support the numbers that would show up for a national. Looking at google earth, Baja Acres property is 1/4 the size of Red Bud.
This is the main problem I see. Baja property is not even close to big enough for all the camping/parking. Redbud sold out camping this year and it was truly a sight to see.
Also the layout of the track is not good for spectating with that many people. You basically can only watch on the outer edges, there is no infield.
I have never made it out to that track but it looks really good. Michigan has some of the best tracks around.
It's not big enough. Was only 80 acres I believe. Good amateur track but not national caliber.
I don't think distance apart is an issue look how close RedBud and Ironman are.
I like the track because it’s super fast. Dropping a tooth might not b enough. It’s flat tho I prefer hills . Hold it wo then a big jump here and there. Xmas in the UP is a better track with loamy sand. They had a sat and sun race with a pro am. Chad Johnson won all the 450a & 30+ motos. Baja acres is a cool track but I think there’s much better tracks out there . That don’t hv a pro or am national.
That place is slammed full at the Baja Brawl let alone a National. I put on a couple wakeskate events there years ago during the Brawl Weekend. I think it was 09 or around there.
They should put on a moto fite club race there maybe?
in past years it was discussed, i believe he went thru figuring out all the logistics such as securing fields around track for parking etc... patrick was no slouch when it came to holding large events. and fully capable. but i think with red bud and other locations already on schedule the cards just never aligned i'm sure if it ever came down to it would be solid national stop.
its a mix of sand (upper half and michigan dirt (lower half) track shape or style changes with whatever so track width doesn't really matter cause they'll build whatever they need. very capable in that dept.

I've seen it driving by once going to the Muth' but really got to ride there sometime. "Pure Michigan"
My son went to a region there in like 2015 and he straight up said its thr hardest track he had ever ridden. It seems like there was enough parking. We pitted WAAY away from the starting area. My grandson was jumping in the lake out by the road. We had a good time.
Also, i would have never known about Frakenmuth had i not needed a hardware store. It was saturday late in the day and an ace just happen to be open. Bought some junk to jimmy-rig a broken radiator. We came too far (alabama)not to try. That was a cool little town.
On an area of concern we stayed in flint ( right after that shitty drinking water debacle), We went to a Hooter's for dinner after racing. There were men serving!!! The wings arent worth staying for dudes so we left... Lol
Loved the experience. That son passed 5 years ago and that trip is one of my most fond memories with him and my grandson.
Neither is Crawfordsville for Ironman either though.

I'm sure pat could rent land from the farmer on top the hill to expand parking. He has done it last min for the brawl.
I always thought Bull Dogs was best sand track. Obviously it is not big enough for a national but it is rough. I would love to see Baja Acres hold a national just not at the risk of losing Red Bud.
Brian was our hometown hero. He was amazing. RIP.
Bulldogs is much like Southwick in that it has a hard base under it and yes, it is way to small to ever have a really big race. Baja is more like Glen Helen in that it is wfo and gets rough as hell.
