31 race weekends is a grind, the nerve of them taking a week off, on an off weekend.

My office job and a competitive sport are not the same. If Levi is out working on a swing and Deegs is burning motos at the wick, not only does he have an upper hand physically but now Levi knows Deegan was there. That is the genius of this move more than anything.

I didn't see Deegs, just his bike with sand on the tires Wink

Anyways, some guys need a reset, some guys want to keep pushing. Its their time off, let them use the time as they please, but throwing shade because they aren't out there grinding ???

He looks fast I was surprised no one raced there Sunday after Mt Morris to get track time. He's got the upper hand it's his title to lose.

Southwick is probably on the lowest spectrum of being considered a "sand track". Grantsburg, WI is about 2-3ft deep of soft sand and NO hard base. I always wished they could make Grantsburg wider and host a National. But the place is just too small and would need a lot of improvement. They could move it down the road with bigger hills and it would be awesome.

I’d love to see our guys race gopher dunes in Canada that place is gnarly

He already has this class covered... but if he dominates at Southwick, he's officially covered all the bases and there's no denying that he can & will win at any track. He obviously thrives on the dry, hard soil out west. Last weekend, he absolutely dismantled a classic rutty east coast track in High Point. If he wins in the sand (the only question mark surrounding him at the moment), that'll be quite the statement.

We need a legit bottomless sand national. Something like the old Cocoa Beach track.

I think Star Racing really want a title again. They missed a few the last years and if you put that much into it only tiltles mean anything.

That track was tough on a different level. Beat the crap out of pretty much everybody. But Hannah kicked ass on it.

Same with Orlando Sports Stadium.

I’d love to see today’s boys on it too.

The Wick isn’t a sand track. It has a sandier surface than most but it’s not a sand track. Sand moves around under the bike differently and takes a different technique as a rider and I don’t think Southwick fits into that category the same. Anstie might do well because it’s an easier version of a sand track but to be honest I think he will just treat it like any other US national track

There's also 24 hours in a day, just because Jo and Levi didn't post their morning workout and pounding out motos doesn't mean it didn't happen. I laid down and did nothing for about an hour this evening, doesn't mean I wasn't already sweating my ass off at 5am at work this morning.

It’s a sand track it just has a hard base. Plenty of places in the US have the deep sand they just aren’t national tracks. Southwick is its own animal

Well, they definitely weren’t at Southwick

It's just a statement of fact.  It's very well known that Southwick is not nearly has brutal a sand track as Lommel or Valkenswaard.

Star is just spending more money. Theyre not better. They’re buying it.  At any time, any of these teams can be #1 if they just spend more money than the other teams.  Everyone in the industry knows this

Pretty sure a round or two of golf or 3-4 hours on the lake isn’t the difference between winning and losing at the pro level but what do I know

Agreed !!!!

Oak Hill outside Decatur, TX if tilled deep is pretty close and Underground outside Kemp, TX when the track was on the bottom (flat land) the sand was deep and bottomless. This was way back when Regals started the place. The track has moved up onto the back hill and in the trees now.

The sand is not the only difficult part about Southwick. There is constant elevation change, uphill and downhill. The elevation change is very abrupt and often right out of a corner and very little room to prepare. Add to that just lots of corners and NO place to even think about taking even a breath of rest. You are constantly giving some type of physical input to the bike. No big air jumps to rest on either. Lots of g-outs too.

I would add that the track is looking very groomed in these videos.  I would have thought if they were renting it they would have asked for it to be left from the last race.

Not sure if I agree or not, but I had a chuckle about the abrupt turnaround in your post.

As for me, I agree about Deegan's heart and tenacity.

We have seen Anstie's speed, and heart in a single event.  He *could* win.  But my guess is that Deegan would grind him down over time in a long season based on what I have seen so far.   It will be fun to watch anyway, and that's what I like about the sport.

Anstie, Deegan, Kitchen, Masterpool, and Vialle.  Lots in the mix right now.

The one in Port St John, just north of Canaveral Groves?

The dick measuring contest about sand tracks has always been weird to me.

31 race weekends is a grind, the nerve of them taking a week off, on an off weekend.

250 riders don’t race every round of supercross so it isnt a full 31 wk season for them
