Stew offered more analysis in the first 3 minutes of Race Day Live than RC has done in 5 years. RC needs a new job and we need Stew full time.
Agreed. Stew is awesome and fun and RC is painful to listen to. Praying AC replaces him soon.
I'm not a huge Stew fan but he is head and shoulders above RC in the booth. Only had to mute them a few times today.
I feel this may be the end of the Goats time in a booth, mx and sx.
I personally just enjoy Stew's personality! Given the choice, I think Peacock should get him a multi year contract.

Stew has good analysis. It can be a little jumbled and long winded but it’s solid. He actually follows the race, lap times and intervals. Ricky had no idea what was going on and just keeps repeating the same lines.
I like Stew also but i feel its more to do with the production. SX production wants hype and over exaggeration where as the MX production caters more to the core fan, so we get David Baily-esque type of intelligent commentary.
I really think, if RC was given the chance, he would have almost ...the same level of analysis as James
JS7 definitely has a way of giving himself more natural credibility, an appreciated aspect for new and core fans alike. Ricky is just too mind numbing with how much he panders to the drunk/casual fans.
Anyone else notice how RC was supposed to be in the booth alongside Stew and Weege at every race? He’s missed two races, last week he was at moto gp, this weeks, not sure. But do we think he’s getting replaced by someone? Sure it may be a bit early to answer the question but it’s just something i noticed.
Weege, Stew and JT work well together. However, Weege give JT his shirt back and size up next week so you don’t blind us with that farmers tan…
Literally anyone > RC
stew is great. He speaks clearly, he brings actual insight including explaining how riders might be feeling, their strategies, how well their bike is working, etc. he is humble and has a good sense of humor. I wasn’t always a fan of his racing back in the day but he is clearly an asset to the broadcasting team. Having Ricky in the booth feels like a detriment to the entire broadcast.
bubba is great in the booth, but I was really lost watching without someone explaining it to me in wheelbarrows..
Has RC not yet gotten the chance to show his skillset?
I don't think it's the production. James shines over RC in the SX booth just the same as in MX. Even if you wanna turn up the hype you still need someone with the knowledge, articulation, vocabulary, etc. I definitely think RC has the knowledge, but in my opinion, he lacks the vocabulary and articulation in order to get his knowledge across to the viewer. At times I can hear RC looking for a different word to use.
It's nice not to hear too many "OH!!!" during the broadcast.
That said, James' vocabulary shows it's limitations as well...especially when the track is "OneLineDead".
RC is over here at TT races presenting trophy’s with monster energy. Cool to see him on the island. Wonder what he’ll make of the greatest two wheel show on earth.
Agreed and this is a great example of what RC could do instead of trying to announce which he is just not good at.
A lampshade would be better then RC.
He’s watching that race thinking about how much safer a supercross track is.
TT riders are a different breed man 😂
RC is about my age. He's divorced. Has kids. Has millions. It would be VERY easy for the mx world to "remember" RC for his great accomplishments but to focus forward on kids like Jett. The only thing keeping RC "relevant" is his face on the TV every sat night for sx. It must be difficult to go from such attention and acclaim and celebration to...nothing. I can see WHY he wants to be doing commentary so that everyone call him the GOAT 24x a show...but it doesn't change the fact that he's just not that good at it.
Pit Row
You all can keep him until after the season is done here and then take him back January 1st
He can probably teach the audience about going outside, inside and OOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!
Jeez lads come on, there’s a lot of anamosity out there for the lad. I agree he’s not the best commentator and monster probably paid him to come over to the island. But as a dirt bike rider i would like to say it was somebody from Europe but it was Ricky who was the best ever and he wants to pull in few more dollars doing something he isn’t good at I don’t care. Great to see him at the TT and he will have learned what these guys risk and making buttons for it compared to Jett or Chase or him previously.
That's all we are being critical about.....and "not the best commentator" is like saying Chase's second moto ride yesterday was nothing special.
I agree he was the best ever on the bike outdoors and changed the sport......but he is absolutely horrible at announcing and needs to stick with being an ambassador or whatever for the brands he represents. He still has a place in the sport 100%, but not behind the mic.
I did think JS was good this week, and was thinking he appears more comfortable compared to last year. He’s stopped with the stupid nicknames “German chocolate” for example and is actually providing really good insight to the racing bike set up etc. I get the impression he’s not caught up in the we need to talk about Degan constantly deal yet also. He called it like it he saw it.
Weege, Stew and AC would be a kickass combo.
When James does the announcing it just seems much better to me. Seems like I am sitting in my living room with him just watching the race with a cool fun racer. Love how he can joke and teach me about mx I never think of.
I wish stew would quit predicting what is about to happen instead of calling what is happening. His technical info is amazing, but it loses value when he’s always trying to foreshadow what the rider on screen will do next.
“Chase just came from last to 40th”…James Stewart.
Don’t let me interrupt the lynch mob but you guys need to remember that nobody is perfect.
Even Weege jumbles words sometimes. I care about the knowledge of the analyst and what they recognize......and he is great at that.
It's clear to me that James is a fast thinker and he has excellent analysis skills. I feel like he could use some speech classes and lose a little bit of the "Ebonics" to reach a wider audience. Just don't lose that JS7 flavor!
I'm a fan.
