In my opinion much better than stock. Stock has a funny lag when getting on the gas. That's gone with the 4.1  I run it with the spark arrestor in it.

Never ran it out. Maybe I should try that sometime 🤔.

I also have the fmf slip on(still waiting on the header pipe), I have tried it with the quiet insert/spark arrestor in and out. To me it felt better with it installed, But i did end up cutting the screen off the end of the quiet insert. When i removed the quiet insert/spark arrestor and ran the muffler wide open it feels like the bike lost some torque down low and not much of a gain up top.

LOL i've never ran it in hahaha. The comment below yours is solid too. I think i will put it back in give it a whirl.

I only rode my new 24 once last week. It felt solid but completely different than my 23. Since i have my 23 dialed in I decided to keep riding it through the NGPC this weekend then the following 2 weekends are regionals. spent the last 2 weeks just focused on doing laps on the bike instead of testing & tuning!

After the regional i'm going to put some time & races on the 24 get er' all ironed out.

Just picked up a freshie last weekend from power motorsports in Oregon. $7200 otd for a 24 KX450x. They have the regular kx450’s for $6999 otd. Best deal I could find. Looking forward to getting this thing dialed in. Has anyone replaced the temp sensor port on the side of the head with the 19-23 style and hose? This 24 setup is janky with all the unnecessary hose clamps. Looks like for about $70 bucks you can go back to the old style and get rid of 2 hose clamps.

The screen creates some kind back pressure, some bikes like more back pressure!

Yep i agree, I run my FMF muffler with the quiet insert in but the screen cut off of it. FMF has another screen half way down inside the can already.

If you open the air box and put an open exhaust-I am very certain mapping will be lean.

Yes I’m sure this bike unlike the every other bike will have problems doing the same thing everyone does to every other bike without issues.

Have you ridden a 24 kx450? The one I rode felt lean stock. People have also reported hearing detonation with the stock setup. The fueling app allows a very small % fuel adjustment. If someone is using an oxygenated fuel it will be way lean with intake and exhaust mods. This bike is choked up more than any other 450 and I definitely wouldn’t assume because other bikes are fine that this one would be. Maybe I’m stating the obvious, but I’d rather than see someone have a bike problem.

Similar to the 2012 CRF450.   The stock muffler was extremely restrictive and the stock mapping was very lean to match.  It was like a freakin enduro bike.  No power and very quiet.   If you put any kind of more open muffler on it with the stock mapping it was stupidly lean.   You had to richen up the mapping quite a bit to make it right.

Instructions are in your manual giusepperozzo. Load in these values.

My exhaust and air box are opened up and my bike runs really good. Just have to add some 110 octane to my pump gas to keep it from detonating. I don't think it's lean, I think they advanced the timing to make up for it being choked up. I'm also in the hot and humid Southeast, I'm sure that plays a part.

The hoses are different total lengths from 2023 to the new designed cooling system used on the 2024 that will need to longer end to end so it will not work.

We are still in the process of making a Y kit that will do this for you but we are still a couple months away from having in stock.

After installing a full PC exhaust, opening the airbox up, 51 tooth rear sprocket, I’m very happy with the bike. Ended up staying on the stock map, 50/50 110/93 mix, runs great. May add a vortex in the future.

I haven’t gotten to ride my 24 yet. With how small the air filter Is on it are yall noticing the need to change it more frequently than whatever you had before the 24 kx.

Nope, stays way cleaner than my 22 did.

Ciao a tutti. Oggi ho messo la mappa Chavez quando lampeggiava tutte e due le luci insieme. Ora come faccio a sapere se la carica in mappa 1 oppure 2?

I mix 93 pump gas with VP110 I buy from a pump as well at a 2:1 ratio in all my 4 strokes.  Cheap insurance against detonation.  I have a couple old metal VP cans that I take to a fuel distributor and fill them up when I’m in the area.

I’ve been running Sunoco Optima and 260 GTX without a single issue

my bike came with regular pump gas from the dealership, in stock configuration it detonated a tiny bit the first hour

Then added the Sunoco fuel with full PC6, EFI remap and air box mod, not a single issue with detonation after that, bike runs great!

I’ll take the green one!

Decided to grab one, called Ridersville and took the last one on the floor (3 more showed up in crates when I was there).  Walked in, dropped 7k at the cash register, lady handed me a buck back, a stack of papers and out the door I went.   I had to add some time getting oil and filters, so I was there about 25 minutes when it could have been 15.  My type of place.  No bs whatsoever.

Is it possible to cut the odi grip of the throttle tube? Or is it a new throttle that is needed?

I don't like the odi grips miss my old renthal full diamond.

I’m sure it’s possible. But just buy a new throttle tube. I’m running the WC one. It’s great. But any of them will do

Got my first ride with Ti6 exhaust today. For anyone wanting to save a few bucks and doesn't mind the look of the stock exhaust removing the baffle and screens gets you 80% of what the full PC does. Definitely a little disappointed there wasn't a bigger difference. Also it's a subjective thing but to me the PC pipe sounds like shit, especially high in the revs.

I’m about to pull the trigger on a Ti-6 pro, but this has paused my purchase.  What don’t you like about the sound?

I'm used to it now and honestly don't mind it. At first it was just alot louder than stock and pretty raspy especially higher in the revs. If I was to do it again I would go the pro which you are and I believe that sounds a bit better.

If I had it to do again, I would have gone with the T-6 pro.  I went with the regular T-6 and it is really loud.

Whats your thoughts on the Showa suspension?

Might go from yami to kawi.. the only thing I am not sure about is the suspension. Love the kyb.. plush with good hold up. Is it possible to get that feeling with the Showa?

Showa can be just as good as kyb with the right tuner. Stock these Showas are really adjustable, especially on the fork comp clicker. Stock they are pretty good but blow through the travel on the bigger bumps. I was running about 8 or 9 out before I revalved them. Now after a revalve they are even more amazing! Love this bike! Now going to do the shock as it can feel a little soft when pushed.
