How the F does Hunter get to pull that while being a lap down and not get black flagged?
Because AMA gunna AMA. If they want to stay true to their roots and go full AMA, somehow Ando will end up with a fine.
Are the officials just being more cautious or is this one of those fun gray areas that our swiss cheese of a rulebook has? Obviously Hunter was wrong here Im just trying to make sense of AMA’s decision making which is probably a mistake on my part 😂

My guess is that they just missed it. It's the AMA we're talking about here, mistakes are bound to happen.

Really wish the ama would adopt a similar stance like F1. Notice the issue and state it is under review. Take your time and do the proper thing. Now on things like last night? Hunter answered a lap down......If he caught him and passed him for position that would be perfect.....but waiting on someone like that is garbage.
An “under review” scenario absolutely should be a thing. Pelletier has been hopping on the broadcast occasionally to clarify rules and delays etc., he could easily be tossed in and say something like; “we are aware of the incident and it’s under review”
It is so simple. Just slip it in the broadcast stating “the ama is aware of the incident between races 96 and 21, it is under review” This gives them ample time to assess, plan, and formulate a proper penalty if needed or label it as “no further infestation necessary” etc. not hard

Also gives broadcasting crew another talking point after the fact and they can give their opinions on the call of AMA instead of offering opinions based off just speculation.
There's probably a few reasons and none of them are because of his last name. Ando is on probation and has a history of aggressive riding, Hunter doesn't. Hunter didn't even remotely screw his race up as bad as Anderson did to him. It'd be hard to justify a case of "retaliation" when he just gave him a little brake check as he was being lapped, retaliation would have been waiting on him and taking him out. Whether you like the move or not you can't say he didn't deserve it.

Maybe the AMA looked at it as Ando knocked Hunter to the ground and cost him 18 postions, Lawrence retaliated with a 1 position interference. I don’t see why anyone should be disqualified. I’d like to say Hunter will get him back in the Nationals but Anderson will be nowhere near a podium spot so Hunters only opportunity will be when he’s lapping him
Reed getting Black Flagged for that was one of the worst calls in AMA history..

Why does everyone think Ando is lost outdoors? He a podium threat every summer if he's healthy. He won Hangtown in '22
If he plows Ando while passing him at Pala, that’s payback. Waiting around to mess with a faster rider while he’s lapping you is a bitch move. I hope Ando teaches him that lesson at some point in the future.

His last name is Lawrence. That’s it. The AMA does not treat riders equal, and fan or not…the Lawrence name will have pull for the next decade. They may do $ fine once in a while to give the appearance of equal treatment, but never to much detriment to the Lawrence brothers. They hate Jason so they treat him differently. Had the roles been reversed I would have bet my house Jason would have been black flagged. Period!
I believe you're correct. I'm not saying he's a threat to Jett or Sexton. He'll be 30 seconds back from them. But I've seen several people act like a podium is out of the question. He's got plenty of them
