Hey I love this thread. Went to my local Walmart today to grab a few bottles of Shout...

I'll take this over a thread speculating as to what CM63's favorite grooming equipment is for his "wardrobe malfunctions". Whistling

At least there might be something useful to me in this one.

Based off of all the awesome feedback here, I bought the following:

- Muc-Off

- Shout

- Simple Green

Will try them all and see which I like the best.

Today I cleaned the bike with Muc-Off and it did a great job. However, I used quite a bit of the bottle already. Alternatively, I bought the concentrate too, so we’ll see how long it lasts. So far really happy with it. But can see how it can get pricey after some time. Both Shout & Simple Green were pretty damn cheap.

Bringing the endless debate back up, but I’m a long time simple green guy. For those saying it’s not hard on things I agree with metals, but the last couple years I started using a weed sprayer to apply my cut 50:50-25:75 simple green to water ratio. I have gone through a couple sprayers and they always end up to starting leaking and dripping from all the seals. My guess is the simple green dries them out and cracks them? Curious if anyone gets this with shout.

In a twist to my usual routine - I bought Lucas ceramic spray wax. I sprayed it under the fenders and wiped down the plastics, fenders, gas tank, wheels etc.

It definitely helped it to clean up easier and in fact I didn’t use my normal shout routine. Just pressure washed it and then wiped down later with the ceramic wax again.

ill use a heck of a lot less product doing it that way compared to spraying the whole bike down with shout

the shout will still be necessary every couple washed I’m sure, but another option.

Be careful with it. It says on the bottle not to apply on aluminium.

Simple Green makes the tires nice and clean and black BUT the Muc Off cleans everything else really well without the fear of SG causing oxidizing.

Shout is hands down the best, it gets all the dirt off. Spray down, then shout , then rinse.

Simple green sucks. Plus it fades your bike. I was sponsored by slick too. That shit also sucks.

50% distilled water

25% mr.clean

25% simple green

few drops of blue dawn dish soap.

mix up and spray.

As I`m getting older (and more lazy?) I`m only using a brush on the tires more and more if I ride in "dry" conditions. Doing this before I`m leaving the track so I don`t get a lot of dirt in the van or trailer.

I washed my bike after every ride before, but don`t think it was necessary and maybe not the best for the bearings. If I wash my bike or not depends on the track conditions and also if I`m going to do some wrenching on the bike.

Blast all the big shit with PW, then Dawn in a bucket and nylon brush for any metal, soft brush for plastics. Blast off again with PW and WD40 pipe, forks, wheels, and swingarm.

Bikes always look good after.

Just please try the following, me and the wife race offroad in red clay and sand here in the Carolina’s I wash a ton of bikes.

Shout on everything, bleach mixed with dawn for the tires, don’t even have to scrub them just pressure wash, simple green diluted for chain and any chain lube fling. Blow dry afterwards, WD-40 chain and any tight areas to displace water then SC1 or the new Tusk spray is good also.

Shout is the best bang for the buck without fucking up stuff.  It's gentle and gets the job done.  Muc off is basically as good.  But it is stupid expensive.  And it doesn't really work any better.

Muc Off is not expensive if you buy the concentrate.....and Shout doesn't sponsor pro teams, but Muc Off does.

In regards to general bike cleanup, I use a mixture of Dawn, Laundry Detergent and Hydrogen Peroxide.

I’ve used the scrubby bubbles for years. It does get expensive though. I coat the entire bike down with it. I use a full can on each wash unfortunately
