Nice.👌🏼 Love the French banter, reminds of my years spent racing bicycles in France a lifetime or two ago .
2024 SX.....no whoops, lots of flat corners ! ! Hmmm......... I know a guy that would have been perfect for 2024 SX (MM)
Imagine hitting up the vet track for a nice, casual ride and having DV and MM blow past you on 250s!
I think I could have run with you guys on your warmup lap, but that's about it.
Love the video, cool to see you having fun.
re: the brake pedal, I have the same issue. Im only 6' with size 10 A'Star boot (i.e. not that large) and can't for the life of me hit the brake pedal without one of these.

So good, thanks for sharing
that does look higher then im used to seeing or its the angle of the video.
Those hot laps MM was doing were insane!
I'm a size 13/47EU and yes, I usually set up my shifter 1 tooth higher than stock/normal. Some bike, you can't do it because the shifter would hit the chain while shifting up...
If I ever get a KTM with that rear brake pedal set-up, I will definitely get one of those. I missed the pedal a few times with my size 13 Fox boot. The first time, it scared the crap out of me. At first I thought the rotor was bent and spreading the pads but no, brake was fine, I wasn't reaching it

I visit Vital regularly and peruse both Moto & Non-Moto, avoiding the negative content, like the daily arguments and insult-fest’s that those categories can sometimes be, and seek out & enjoy the positive content that Vital can also be, when we drop the trash talking, name calling insanity, remembering that we are all motorcycle-nuts first and foremost and act like a group of like-minded enthusiasts enjoying our favorite common interest that is “ALL THINGS-MOTO”!!!
A post by a former world class professional MX athlete IMMEDIATELY draws my attention and is EXACTLY the type of content that I hope to see when I navigate over here to Vital!
THANK YOU for posting the incredibly entertaining and captivating video! Watching you and Marvin stretch the throttle cables and produce that glorious 2-stroke soundtrack was the PERFECT ending to the day! Your editing seemed great to me, and it was cool to see that even guys with world class talent are still just buddies enjoying a fun day at the track, the same as my riding buddies & I when we are at the track! Well… except that we’re all minus the ludicrous speed and our soundtrack would be more of a moto long bog, punctuated by one near disaster after the next! 🤪
Please keep posting your videos, it was a fun distraction from the usual real world stuff we all deal with! Two thumbs up from me Sir! 👍 😎 👍❗️
PS… My wife and I finally got to make our lifelong dream of visiting France a reality recently and we absolutely LOVED everything about your beautiful home country! Even Paris was the exact opposite of what expected, based on travel sites & “word on the street” scuttlebutt, finding it instead to be friendly, charming, and great hospitality! We can’t wait to go back someday!
Bonjour, votre entree vitalmx, est incroyable, s’il vous plait continuez comme ca Monsieur! Merci!
DV 12 is a gem. He called me and wished me a happy birthday a couple years back. We've never met or had any interaction except right here on vital.
I ride just like that every night in my dreams!
That was awesome!
But holy shit, when it switched from DV to MM wow that was incredible!
It was like it was 2x speed video or something, Marvin has still got the speed and I love that he does it on a 2-stroke!
He was riding that 250 like a 125, almost never off the throttle just WFO. But DV you still were fast, just that youngster MM had a little more game..

50% Race gas and a head mod are the best thing a vet racer can do to YZ250.
They run so much cleaner with tighter squish, good fuel and good jetting.
Thanks DV!
I reach for the kickstarter on my 350F every time I ride it.
I agree with your sentiment 100% but to be fair....US pump gas is not the same as Euro Pump gas. DV is pumping the highest octane fuel available at that particular gas station and it's still lower than the lowest octane fuel available in Europe. I know there are some minor differences in how octane numbers are calculated but still, Euro fuel standards are higher.
.
Then factor in the weight of the average US vet rider and things can start getting sketchy on a high revving 2-stroke
But generally speaking...you're right...and it's even more ridiculous when you consider how many actually race!
I'm on the race gas side of things, but a comparison between Europe and USA octane ratings at the pump is not as simple as putting the numbers side by side.
In the USA octane rating at the pump is determined by the formula: (RON+MON) / 2
In Europe and most of the world, it is simply the RON value.
RON is Reasearch Octane Number. It is derived by chemical analysis and mathematical methods.
MON is Motor Octane Number. It is derived from a standardized engine.
RON and MON are different for each fuel, with (as I understand it) RON typically having a higher number for the same fuel compared to MON.
I'm not sticking up for pump gas here.. I run some race gas in my two strokes.
LOL, he may not have mentioned it, but i assume he didn't like it...

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like the video. We're all the same at different levels. We like to ride dirt bikes with buddies, talk crap to each other and have fun. That's pretty much how we all started doing it. As an out of shape guy who doesn't really ride anymore, it's nice of Marvin to try to get me to the track and wanting to ride with me. The guy could still be competitive racing and he spent a wednesday riding a vet track with me and was loving it. Pretty amazing how much he loves to ride still, he's like a 7 year old kid on a PW. He kept saying, let's go ride when I was taking a water, lungs & arm pump break. haha
Please rank the top 4 current mx helmets in your opinion DV. With no testing or bias, just general thoughts from the man himselfs perception
Awesome video and I hope you do more in the future... Bike rebuilds/refurbishments too!
Just want to take this opportunity to thank you for doing the podcast with Marvin. I was born in Aus but my family is from Visé, Belgium. My mum absolutely loves listening to you guys.
Cheers
My sentiments too. I avoid the forum arguments by not bothering to log on.
I am glad I did tonight.
This video is brilliant. I absolutely loved it. Thanks for sharing DV. Thanks for ripping, both of you.
Sensational.
Was about to say the same faarken hauling! 2 strokes fit him like a glove too
Dear Marv, please please please line up to a national or two on that 2 stroke!
Yeah I saw Marv on Gypsy Tales and he said how you talked him into getting a 2-stroke, DV. Good stuff
Love hearing DV's take on things, but I miss Marv on the track.
Using race gas like T2 is about fuel consistently and jetting. My experience w/Pump gas is all over the place, not uncommon to get water and contaminants in the fuel. I too used to run pump fuel in my 2strokes until a few bad experiences, resulting in damaged engines and ruined ride days. Buying good fuel has nothing to do with my “USA Vet rider” status 😘 …now my ConeValve A Kit forks are a different story😂…great post by DV and Marvin …keep the 2T”s relevant!
If you like to ride dirt bikes, ride dirt bikes, you only get one shot at this. Every day you don’t ride is a day closer to never getting to ride.
Love to see old pro’s that still throw a leg over something they once loved.
Same here. Every Austrian bike I have owned first thing I do is go here. They have multiple options. Stock is way too tucked in under the clutch cover for me. Great video !

I have used nothing but pump gas for over 30 years from hundreds of different gas stations in the South and West US and have never had a fuel issue, ever, in both 2T and 4T. I can vouch for 5 to 10 other guys as well. Not saying it doesn’t happen, but I believe bad fuel from the station is rare and “fuel problems” aren’t always what they seem.
Post a reply to: Marvin & I went riding our 250 2 strokes yesterday & packed the GoPro!
