I'm not one to usually complain about the broadcast because it is what it is, and complaining won't change it this season. But last night, wtf. Between Will's long-winded stories on every single rider in the paddock (which always happen when something exciting is happening on track), the terrible timing of replays, 5 turns after the start. Absolutely nothing flowed last night and they talked the entire broadcast. I like to call it, "cooking all day but no dinner."

Between RC's OOHHHHHHH!!!! screams, his constant rambling about anything EXCEPT the racing, his personal storytelling, the screeching uselessness of Wil telling dumb side stories (just put her in a bikini and tape her mouth shut) during the racing, the goddamn dumb 2 small windows showing 2 different track positions (what, is this fucking 1995), the constant racing order blocking the entire left side of the screen, stupid replays during close racing action and we hear the crowd erupting at what is happening but we can't watch it...I mean seriously, what dumbfuck producer is in charge of this shit show?
I was pissed trying to watch Denver....it was damn near enough to make me wait for the replay so I could fast forward all of the dumb shit.

I just watched the replay of 2023 Washougal with Weege and James in the booth. It was soooooooo much better it wasn't funny. They called the race, James was subtle and informative and it was excellent on the level of Malin doing MXGP.
I watched the Heat races and Mains, and counted at least 10 stories from Will...🙄
I don't usually complain. But I thought RC sounded like someone slipped a "special" gummy into his vitamin bottle....
Yeah - it is pretty awful. They should put her spots in the non racing time or just not have it. Save the money on this and spend it on more dirt.
As for the racing announcers - Yes Diffi/RC should not be in the box. Get people that can just focus on the racing and make it exciting.

Made it home in time for the mains and the wife came down to talk to me and the kid so I muted the broadcast. As she was rambling on I began to notice how much better the racing was without RC+friends. I can’t remember what she said, but the racing was way better

Hey guys, I want to give you another perspective.
Which doesn’t mean that if somebody has lower standards, you should be happy with them as well.
I am a non-English speaker, and to me Ricky sounds very good. He has a rich and a bit unusual voice, he’s intonations are very well articulated.
The only claim that I have to him and Leigh is to agree how to pronounce AP7 at the same time. Leigh says PlessinGer, G like in Game, and Ricky says PlessinDJer, G like in Germany. So I never know what is the correct one!
I can’t buy Video Pass now since I’m in Russia and PayPal and Credit Card payments to anything international are hard to make (you can but you got to do through people who own banking cards issued outside Russia).
So I use international superhero Slicknick610 services if you know what I mean.
And I also noticed last year or in 2022, that if you watch races on tv, on NBC or USA Networks, that they have the option of the second audio without voices. And it was in 5.1 I think!
I know that lesser half of the races are on TV now live, but maybe Peacock also has the option of the second audio with no commentary? I know people who watch football and hates commentator’s personalities, they welcome this option. I think English Premier League has it and some other sports.
My favourite pair of commentators is Jason Weigandt with Grant Langston for Outdoors. Followed by Ralph and Fro.
The dumbest thing SX and MX still has in a year of 2024 in the broadcast is the energy drinks cans on the podium and helmet off/cap and fresh goggles on. I know that air time costs big, and sponsorships and all that but this is so dumb. I wish it would go away.

It’s pronounced “singer” as in a singer in a band. AP clarified this once on a podcast.
My humble opinion. We think we are watching a televised racing event and apply the standard of wanting to see the race. I suspect the reality is, we are watching a 3 hour infomercial with snippets of racing to keep us tuned in. The mouths are there to make sure each and every company name is repeated the contracted amount of times per night.
One of the main issues with RC is he can't keep up with the action. When he goes into "I did this in 2009" story you're already another lap in and he's completely lost. I'm sure that someone in the broadcast. Team told him that he should tell anecdotal stories as he goes. But they should just stop that altogether. Introduce him as a multi time Champion and follow the action.
Guess we are back to the ”WHAIT A MINUTE!” Drinking game again ,.
The problem is the guys in the booth rarely 'call the race'. They get on long winded 'narratives' about whatever and dont call the action. When they utter the dreaded words 'throw it to Wil', it just gets worse.
It is an obvious production decision, And not a good one.
At this point I wish they would just offer an audio stream of the track mikes, lets just hear the bikes.
So I work with 2 guys that are casual fans. Don't have peacock so they can only watch when its on NBC and not in the middle of the night.
The first thing both of them said to me this morning was how bad Diffey was. No complaints about anyone else. Both could not believe he said Jett wouldn't pass his brother lol

That's the biggest thing I want. Call the race action as it happens. Describe in detail what is happening in that moment. I'm sure it's easier said than done. But let's try it and see what happens.
