Look, I see that Hunter came in on a good run…from the outside…and “attempted” to shut the door on El Hombré on one of the well known shittiest corners…a flat corner…on last nights track…a truly shitty corner for this kind of move.

So, anyone that’s raced that type of turn, from Lake Madera to Carlsbad to last nights SX, knows that when you’re on the outside? Well, you may not be racing…you just might be bowling; and, you could end up being a bowling pin.

Been there, done that, got the scars Laughing

I yield back to the Gentleman from Kansas.

You're probably right.  I'm just going off that last pic.  Most of the guys were taking that mid-inside line where it was least likely to get excessive wheel spin in the marbles.  I don't see Ando even trying to corner.  I ain't saying Jason did anything wrong...in fact, it's probably textbook if that was his intent.Cool

We’re going to have to sit down over some good bar-b-q, beers and several analytical pictures and data sheets and resolve this very perplexing issue.

Jason did a perfect race move. Sometimes he is in the wrong but not this time. Hunter was fast yesterday. The brothers may both be on the podium together soon.

I plan on spending some time in your neck of the woods this summer.  Hopefully catch Pala and Hangtown again.  Been working on my pork skills since I can't afford beef anymore (ok...I can afford it but the price offends me).

It'd be cool to meet up and break bread.Tongue

If you see this ugly mug... that's me.

Edit...photo taken at the Beale AFB campground.  I spent the week there between Pala/Hangtown.

From the pictures ando went straight until he hit hunter, then he initiated the left turn to follow webb.  He could have intiated the turn many feet prior.   Its what some of you idiots call a "racing incident".   Hahaha

As a racer…if I see or hear someone coming in hot on the outside and that’s gonna shut me down in the turn we are both entering…?

I’ll take him wide. Count on it.

Signed,

A racer that you just called an idiot.

Anderson literally pushed him wide to avoid getting passed in a flat corner and you’re complaining 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hunter could’ve stayed “many feet” away from Anderson knowing that Anderson will run him wide, but instead made an idiot decision and thought he was somehow going to get around Jason in that turn and do it on the outside of him. I’d run him wide in that turn too.

Fan of both dudes, greasy inside corner Hunter left a bit of room open. No bueno on slick flat corner. Anderson used Hunter as a pivot like many of us have done no doubt. Hunter should have closed the door earlier and held the inside tighter. Oh well. Live and learn it ain’t 250’s any longer

“Racing incident” - “bike placement” you can call it what you want, it’s just good racecraft. I’m sure Hunter and his fans would’ve preferred if Ando left him some room so they could’ve raced down the next straight, but El Hombre is smarter than that

Love the Lake Madera and Carlsbad references. If you added Saddleback you have half the Golden State Series.

We were…we are…SO fortunate, aren’t we? Remember the year that Huron flooded so we raced an honest to God REAL old school snow fence track on a hillside near Avenal?

I was T-Boned by an unmanned Maico while running 3rd…at the bottom of a turning off camber downhill. It was AWESOME Got the F up and got back in it! Had to go find the Maico pilot to make sure he was ok after that Moto. It was Open Int and I was on the Ultimate Insano 500…the 1982 CR480 with an RC 3 speed. Was it 1983 GSS…when we had that rain date at Avenal?

Jason decided not to turn. When he could’ve followed Webb and made the pass with little or no contact. Classic Anderson.

Above is the most sensible comment on this thread.

I can take Anderson or leave him and like him for the most part.  He's hardnose old school racer.  I thought the same thing, Anderson all of a sudden decided not to turn.  Is it a dirty move, its just racing but he punted Hunter.  If you look at Andersons line, where did he plan to turn.......when he got to the tuff blocks. I seriously doubt any rider in front of him took that same line.  I also doubt he would have taken that line if Hunter wasn't close.  Thats my best guess.

Cooper Webb does it and it's race craft. Ando does it and it's a dirty move. You race hard to make more money in the Pros!

Hunter tried to take Ando’s line away- racing incident.
Ando dove inside and pushed Hunter wide- racing incident.
But running him all the way to the tuff blocks on the first lap?

I wouldn’t have any issue with it if it had of occurred later in the race. Later in the race, when it’s one on one, that’s fair game every day of the week.
But unfortunately that seems to be Ando’s instinctive reaction in these scenarios. First thought is to run someone off the track instead of racing forward like everyone else. And that’s why he’ll never win another championship.

I am sure he is crying over it right now.

If you have the inside line you control the turn. Hunter is dumb if he thought Anderson did something dirty. Hunter made a good berm. He put himself in that position to be used as such. Guarantee you that Hunter has done the same thing to people more than once.

What makes that move dumb is Anderson can't guarantee he isn't going to go down himself. There was really nothing at stake there on the first lap. I guess if Anderson had gone down and Hunter stayed up it would be torches and pitchforks coming after the Hunter brothers.

Jason could have taken Webb’s line and made the pass clean, hunter would have just passed him back though so I get why he did it.

Or Anderson just doing what he does and the Lawrence brothers are mad that he’s not just rolling over for them? You see it one way, I see it the other 🤷🏻‍♂️

What does that even mean? He's fading out of the spotlight so he put a tough pass on Hunter? LoL he was on the podium last race.

No, it means Hunter tried to muscle Jason and failed miserably.

I don’t think Jason was going to send it at the turn.  Problem is, Hunter gave him daylight at the last moment.  Alpha dogs go for the kill when they smell blood.

This is my mindset.  It just never ended well for me when I tried the "rubbin' route.  I either went down or broke a lever/spokes/radiator.  If I couldn't make a clean pass I'd settle till I could or admit I'm too slow.  Not a pro level mentalityBlush

That’s exactly what he means, let’s be honest Anderson isn’t winning shit anymore and he knows it, best he can hope for is podium every now and then 🤷

I just think he's riding how he's always ridden. Hunter was just another dude on the track. It's funny though Hunter and Jason had an incident and it's automatically Anderson vs The Lawrence Brothers. What? Jett is busy winning a sx title. He's not thinking about Anderson

Deliberate contact has no place in amateur racing, people have to work the next day, pro racing is a different story.
