I don't mind it in this instance as the rule is clear and he did nothing wrong...

But it seems weird saying "riders should be extremely cautious" or whatever and then saying "passing is allowed".

It's basically saying "look for a downed rider, but we trust you're professionals and can continue racing if someone tucked the front on the inside line."

I hear you man, I guess it's because they're accounting for a wide range of scenarios...

I think you're right, as a yellow in pro MX / SX is just a heads up, unlike other motorsports they have the red cross flag to handle serious incidents as an entirely separate flag.

Man this question comes up a lot more lately than it ever has. Every week I see in the race day feed or some random FB post some dope saying why wasn’t this person or that person penalized. New fans or people are just dumber?

Yeah Eli was still right there and couldn't hang . It's not like he suddenly had an 8 second lead after that pass .

It's no different than when a rider gets blocked by a lapped rider and gets passed which happens all the time... Yes it would've been cool to see a battle but I don't think any rider is going to miss any opportunity to pass just to please the crowd
