I'm with AP on this one. I also agree with Bloss. Regional 250 SX points should not count towards earning a top 100 National number.
250 2T in the 250 class, stock from intake to exhaust port
40 or so make it too the show and 20 make it to the Main or the Triple Crown.
New Rule addresses Purse Payout.
The minimum payout is no less than the aggregate total cost for a rider and a mechanic to get the next round to include entry fee.
Payout increase from that amount.
I'd change out the idiot in that video who doesn't ride. Not necessarily a rule change, but the lack of intelligence in his response to some of those things is ridiculous.
Yeah..points number system redo...whatever number points you have at end of year...that's the number you run next year...until the next year...

Mike Pelletier of the AMA.
"250 2t in the 250 class. We're just not there yet."
It's only been what, 15+ years now that it has been needed.
Eliminate the homologation rule. Let bikes like TM race…
I guess they will wait until none are in production for motocross, and have a 2 year old limit to meet homolagation (sp?).
The need to eliminate Monster girls as obstacles...
Why would you want to limit the 250 two stroke to run unmodified against hyper modified 4 strokes?
How about either making the 250 class equal to the 450 class (including no regional titles in sx) rather than a “feeder class”…or…make it a true feeder class, point out of class, regional titles in both sx and Mx, stock bikes (suspension springs and valving only…no A kit…and ergo mods…no other performance mods)…
i dont beleive their is the processes in place to enforce the current rules, let alone what you suggest,
i agree with Bloss on 250 regional points counting for national numbers is pretty lame, should be 1/2 value at least,
This is something that’s done right in Canada: a 250 is a 250.
Well, he did say, "we're just not there with that." So that make it sound like they never will be.
125, 250, and Open classes for MX. 250 and Open for SX. No special treatment for 4 strokes or rotary engines. Electric bikes can only race Open class.
Not an ama rule, but this 9 whoop no dragon back no lime nonsense needs to change
No holeshot devices.
Much stricter penalties for track cutting. Deegan passing multiple riders while making up several seconds on the first lap of the race is worth a two position penalty every single time. That was vital there and saved him at least five positions overall. Hampshire last year made a mistake and just pinned it along the side of the track to stay close to first place. He eventually made the pass with a couple of laps left for the win. The time he saved there was imperative and gave him the win. No penalty was given. Riders continue to do it because the penalty is lax.
No age limit on bikes also. And let DBP 125,s race
Pit Row
Instead of working for the AMA, he'd have a brighter future at NASA telling people they lost the technology to go to the moon. 😂
I agree with kitchen.. age limits. If you exceed the age threshold then maybe implement a height and weight requirement so people like Alex Martin don’t need to yardsale themselves on 450s. Otherwise 250s should be a step toward 450s, not an entire career
Factory Works Bike!
Hunter completely skipped the whoops in some races. No penalty, Agreed on stricture rule enforcements.
No grates either.
I agree, but when it was an equal displacement 250 class in Australia, the odd privateer on modded 2t’s were holeshotting and running up front and embarrassing some of the big dollar factory 4t’s.
Of course you can guess what happened next; factory teams complained nonstop until they changed it to standard between the intake and exhaust for the 2t’s. Only bolt on mods allowed.
However even that is better than them not being allowed at all.
I agree…the AMA wouldn’t/couldn’t enforce it…which is why I say just make it another premier class…end the “feeder class”, and forcing guys to move “up”, and looking down on guys who spend their entire careers there…it’s a premier pro class, just with smaller engines.
and create a 125 feeder class…
their is no time for another class at SX or MX, although if teh natioanls went back to a 2 day format there would be time for that and a womans class,
i think the coast for 250F is a good thing, as a 17 year old needing to do 17/19 weekends in a row is to much,
i did like the idea that came up on pulpmx of a under 3 year expereince, in the class, and a over 3 year class that rotates between east and west each year,
Limited one way radio communication with riders.
That would be cool but also open the door to a private team of sorts to make something that no one could afford and have a bike better than a factory bike. Atleast that’s what I think it would do… If not I don’t see why they wouldn’t.
you re-enter track where u left it.
Canada, Australia, UK, most of Europe, etc... "we're just not there yet" this far down the line is a pathetic, cop out, 'nothing' response.
Nobody made Honda and Kawi stop making two strokes. KTM and Yamaha happily and profitably continue. It's their own choice in both cases. Neither have a right to restrict the others use of their own product or a teams/riders choice or budget of engine package. Honda hasn't earned any appeasement or a right to say other people can't race.
I'm absolutely beating on this dead horse right now, again, I know, but fter all this time fans STILL want this change and they will try all this gimmicky bullshit without just giving people what they want.
