One of the first things I was ever taught in private lessons was line selection and track use. It may sound simple but until you have someone who's got the experience and teaching you, you may not see it. I would account 50% of my abilities (in terms of lap times) to a lesson I got when i was about 13 about line selection.
Just watched it on youtube. Very cool stuff.
Everts had perfect form on his Yinaldi factory 450 very similar to Jett, yet RC could turn up to his back yard, on a 250 2 stroke, get shite starts in the deep wet sand, and still catch, pass & drop him, riding the bike like he stole it looking nothing like Jett.
Go figure

Then a few years later when james came across the pond......
His dad broke it down for you in this thread....
They would probably love for him to be on the track. He could have easily backed it down and finished top 3.
Yeah my thighs get tired from being tall & in the correct position. Then I bend them less now my wt is to high & u loose quickness & control on the bike . But being in the correct position on a bike is easy. It’s u & a bike. Compared to other sports bball on d you hv to cover everyone a little diff. You hv to get down bend knees , arms, hands up , dart side to side , spin , dart , stop, jump, etc, etc. your drilled on all this constantly. It’s not natural to hv your arms above your head, then you hv to dart left, rt, turn, left,rt, spin move left , rt, etc. you don’t want to hear the coach yelling move your feet in a game. It is great to see the other teams bodies get tired & out of position. Our team sees it & instantly goes into kill mode. Some players or a sub is great because they don’t hv the basics or stand straight up . Burn them to the hole. A great player do some moves to get him out of position. And I can get him into foul trouble & get rid of him. Every sport is about being in the correct position. I hv s pal that was a line man for the Packers & another team. He talked about how he has 3-4 staff critiquing every move his body makes. I,ve seen it in practice, they ride them more than any position because it’s about saving the q back.
Ryno & Professional125 podcast @4:20pm…. Gold👍
I'll only listen to guys that practice what they preach. Every single trainer says Jett's style is what they've been preaching, yet they can't replicate it themselves on a bike. Ryno can, AJ Catanzaro can, Tyler Livesay can and that's about it. Gary Bailey? Have you seen what he looks like on a bike? Opposite of Jett. Sitting everywhere, etc. But guys around here say he originated that style... why? because they are old and so is he
AJ Cat was riding at a local track I was at in MA this summer. Technique was flawless. Feet on the pegs in all corners and standing feet on the pegs in certain corners. It was visually beautiful. I don't even think he was the fastest guy there that day. Local pro Josh Clark was probably faster but AJ's form was just amazing. He was on his CR125AF which made it even cooler
Yup. It’s way easier to listen when the coach himself rides exactly how he teaches.
Does riding on the balls of your feet lead to more foot movement (forward/backward) for shifting and braking?
Yes. Our tracks r tighter & more technical than the tracks of the west or Tx. Numerous up & down shifts. So you move your feet a lot. I watched quite a few of these videos while iceing . None of them cover 85 or 125 riding styles. Like they talk about slowing down going into a corner. On a 125 you come in hot. Then use the 450 bike for a berm. Wo until you hit the apex in the corner. Where a 450 bike will assist . Lol. I waiting for the release of the , want to make more money at the track ? Well here’s how, it’s all take out moves. Riders comment I implemented a few maneuvers at the track . I made an extra 80 bucks . Thx.
They like to win more!!!
Wow, this thread really brought out the knuckle dragger's. Ryno pubes are more legit than any of these clowns.
Hughes is a kook, the first half of this video is just psuedo (stoner) intellectual mumbo jumbo where you don’t have enough knowledge to know you are a kook so you ramble like you're saying something.
very rider that rides under his guidance leaves, presume either because he’s a kook, or their results get worse, or they get worse.
To me, this particular accident from Austin was a direct result of his tutelage. Replacing solid muscle building weight exercises with ‘functional’ exercises meant he did not have the core strength to maintain form. Focussing on unlocking/loosening (including removing bracing to free up movement) meant he didn’t have form to maintain control. He was smooth and fast but didn’t not have the scope to react and control unexpected occurrences…
all from THE most injured coach in the business who is THE only coach telling people to not wear protecting. He’s a kook who is a danger to the industry.
So the rider who is notoriously known for going down is Ryan Hughes fault, I assume Jett isn't riding the correct way also? So Fornker had no choice but to train with Ryno, it was nothing to do with Forkner wanting to improve himself?
Danger to the sport, give me a break, tell us how it's done champ.
Pit Row
I don’t think you know that Austin works with Charles at I-con sports with off the bike training!
I don't ever remember Austin having fitness issue. Even after being away with injury for many months I always found his conditioning remarkable
lol great logic.
You tell Mitch!
The guy is setting on 2 red plates. What could he possibly tell him?
That's what I like about him!
I’d love for him to tell Mitch how to run his team!!!😂😂😂
Mitch doesn't have time for vitards. He is too busy trying to win more championships.
So Mitch would rather have a rider out for the majority of sx cause he wouldn’t back off in one race when the rider had a missing contact then a second place in one race and having another rider in contention for the championship. I find that very hard to believe.
Or golfers when they make a golf shot.
If he told Mitch his contact fell out mid-race(after he had ridden with it out for 5 laps) Mitch would have asked why he couldn’t do 5 more laps like that!! Then everyone would be saying Austin was soft and a quitter!!!!!! Probably would be you!!!!!!!!! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
But he didn't win, he crashed and it could have been a career ending crash as bad as it looked. Sometimes it's better to back it off and live to fight another day.
