No updates on the socials or from his team and no mention on the broadcast (Even though we've been on the east coast). He was injured two months ago and no one's heard a thing? This seems really odd. Is he seriously injured? Will he be at Seattle?
Separated hip and dealing with some pain. Should be back for the nationals. MAYBE back for the last few supercross rounds.
That's a gnarly injury.
I kinda thought for a minute that he had figured out the SX thing this year.
Yeah it sucks he got hurt. He was riding awesome. His style is so fun to watch
Dang, that’s the second time he’s had that injury and it’s taken him out of racing. He looked dialed at the beginning of the season too. I hope he heals 100% and can start challenging for some wins this summer.

Sorta reminds me of AC with his “shallow sockets” shoulder problems. I sure hope this isn’t a reoccurring thing.
Similar to the shoulder the hip socket has a labrum that helps hold the femoral head in position. The labrum can tear due to dislocation and need repaired. Wonder if this is what Max is dealing with. Happened to KTM off road Ben Kelley I believe. Surgery and recovery not quick.
Tallon Vohland (via Rider's Meeting podcast with Whiskey Throttle) said that Max has not been riding yet. Nerve issues were creating a lot of pain and a few months of not moving his leg much. He said Max will probably miss all of Supercross and maybe even the first few nationals with the hip injury.
Thanks for the update, I hadn't heard that. Wow that's really disappointing.
He will only heal up when you address him as Maximus..👌
FUQ!
shite.....never realised the injury was that bad.............
rest up max!
Does he have a 2 year deal? I want to see what he can do on Mitch’s kawis with some time and confidence.
Max really creating a huge fan base with his great lack of communication
Heaven forbid he focuses on getting through a very tough injury and getting back to racing. He doesn’t owe “fans” shit.
Been wondering that since he got off superminis
I’m not a fan but sure, he doesn’t owe his “fans” shit, probably why he lacks said “fans”.
wish the kid the best. But I don’t see him lasting.
it ain't none of your damn business is where he's at!
Pit Row
I had a shattered acetabulum causing the hip to dislocated (as well as compound distal femur fracture, ruptured bladder and broken ribs) in late 2014. I had nerve damage in my foot due to my hip injury. The foot wasnt even injured in the wreck but the amount of nerve pain I dealt with for a solid two months was unreal. The pain still there but tolerable these days.
I take max adult dosage of gabapentin but the foot still feels like it's constantly on fire (nothing like those first two months though). I hope him the best. The nerve pain isn't like other pain. Opiods don't really work. You can take enough of them (opiods)that it kinda makes you loopie enough. Hopefully it's not permanent for him. While my pain is tolerable now I can no longer shift gears anymore. I have very little dorsal flexion now. I mostly heel shift. That's ain't working for a pro guy. Good luck Max. He was riding very well it seemed
