I can't remember seeing him get passed unless he crashes

There is someone in futures now or an amateur we haven’t heard of that will be eventually battling Jett, and since the sport is always progressing, you just never know.

kids on 60’s jump triples these days.

Yep, 100% chance there is a kid on 60's right now watching YouTube videos and jumping braking bumps. Kids that age are doing more advanced stuff than MC did in his prime. The one constant on SX/MX is progression.

I agree, whoever is gonna challenge him is probably 13 years old right now. Can't see anyone in 250s having an answer, he's a few years older than most of them anyway

When Jett's 30 and if he's still racing, the new kid on the block will be 20 and smoking him. Which means the next generation kid is 10 years old right now. Someone find him.

Not sure why we’re talking about Jett beating MC’s record. Let’s see where he is in 3 or 4 seasons, at least.

We can have this conversation in 4-5 years!
17 races a year 4 years 68 races

he has 4 wins so he will have to win out to do it in his 4th year. He will be challenged and will have new combers coming up as well. So it could take even longer.

Wait....weren't the delusional Jett fangirls saying he was going to go undefeated this year in supercross? That aged like milk.

Not sure how you could say Jett isn’t the greatest SX racer ever if he beats Jeremy’s win record and surpasses him in SX titles. To say you still wouldn’t call him the greatest is showing your massive bias.

I think he could get there but I don’t know if he will be interested in sticking around that long.

Nobody hates Jett..... it's his delusional fan-bois people are tired of.

First it was Jett only went 22-0 because his competition was injured, now its Jetts only winning because his competition is too old. Meanwhile your speculating about which 10 year old will beat him in 2034.

The cope is hilarious

Malcolm passed him in a heat race and stayed there for about 2 laps, but I don't recall him getting passed in a main.... unless he did in the San Francisco mud but he went down once or twice.

But hwy os it such a he ask? Considering the only guys who have been Abe to take a win off of him thus far will be retired soon. After that, who else looks to be on that level?

At this point it would be pretty stupid to say there’s no chance it happens. I’d hate to see it. The kids talent and age compared to his competition is undeniable right now.

Here’s what keeps me hopeful that it won’t:

1.Sexton and Webb are on new bikes with plenty of time to improve.

2.JCoop is having a really good season by rookie standards, and whether it’s with Yamaha or not, he could possibly get back to the days before injuries, where he used to straight up beat Jett sometimes.

3.These same claims were being made about Stewart in 09…that didn’t work out. Although I can’t ignore the difference in riding style.

4.There is absolutely no way to predict how good certain 250 riders will be when they move up. DNGR, The Chef, and Mini Marvin all have massive upside potential. It would really suck if none of them get to that level.

Can either of you two show me the posts of 'fan girls' saying Jett will go undefeated in SX?

I only remember Burn, who was pretty anti Lawrence, started posting ironically that Jett and Hunter were going 1-2 every weekend.

Any posts that actually believed that?

Also pretty hard to deny at this point that he's the top of the class pretty easily currently.

However, some perspective on the 72 wins is always good....right now, Jett would need to win out the rest of this season and win every race for the next 4 seasons to get there.

We've all seen he's got a propensity to hit the ground on a fairly regular basis so it's not a stretch to think he's gonna miss some races over that time frame....so let's say he needs to keep winning at a high clip for another 6-7 years to get it done.  That's a tall order for anyone which is why the next closest guy is still over 20 races back from MC....more than a complete season.

I agree but what is scary is that except for Dungey and Reed it also took about 2 years for these legends to really go on a roll. After the rookie season, I could see Jett taking 8 to 10 wins a year too for a least 4 or 5 if not 7 or 8 years if healthy, until maybe some burn out comes up like RV had or both the prime go away little by little while a big generation is coming up like for JS7 or Reed. Probably the biggest factor is to stay healthy and here MC was amazing too.

It's a lot of wins no matter how you slice it. Bigger than Hank Aaron's home run record, eventually broke by a roided up Barry Bonds.

Unheard of Dungey had a less than stellar amateur career and turned out great. The notion that there is nobody coming up to challenge is goofy. We can't predict who, but they'll be here before you know it. SX is a dangerous deal and Jeremy didn't suffer the big ones on his March to 72 wins.

Be safe out there kids...

I'm fairly certain that Reed won 7 or 8 races his rookie 250 year against RC. He went 6 straight against RC and nearly won the championship his first year. RC was in his prime at that time too.

2 more reasons that I thought of while riding tonight (good time to think about these things I know) why 72 is a real stretch, can’t even guarantee that he’ll be SX champion.

Twice now everyone of us in the moto community was convinced that Sexton was not going to end up champion…then BOOM pop goes a leg and Chase is #1.

Prado has a high ceiling. He’s been winning his whole life, including right now. With an entire off season to prepare after gaining knowledge this year there’s no way that he’s not a factor. Jett will certainly be in trouble outdoors if nothing else.

If by Aussie you mean someone who was born in Scotland and moved to Australia at 5 years old then moved to the States as a teen then sure she's an Aussie.

That gap wouldn't be any where near as big if RC, Stewart and Reed weren't in the same era.. The fact that they're each over 40 is crazy..

After a guy goes undefeated you can't say he's going to be in trouble. He may have some battles, but in trouble means that he doesn't have anything for the guy. Eli and Chase put 20 seconds on the rest of the field which tells you they were absolutely hauling ass. Jett had a good gap on those guys so it would be safe to say that Eli and Chase are in trouble. That doesn't mean that they won't battle like crazy, I look forward to it.

I’m a little more shocked we only speak of Jett getting to MC’s records.. but what happens if he passes RC4’s records…?

Could Jett pass RC in outdoors and MC in supercross? Do we still refer Ricky as the GOAT?

Pure thought, but if he was to pass both of them.. and Jett hangs up the boots at 30 years of age and broken these records.. what does he become?

Decosta - The Man

RC4 - GOAT

McGrath - The King

Jett - ???

Too early to hang a title. So for now I guess it's "One Time" (450MX Champion)

this video right here is why Jett will be the next great. His ability to control the bike at such high speeds is something we have literally never seen (due to bikes not being that fast in RC and MC’s era). Every race I am more and more confident the only thing stopping him is either a freak injury or him retiring early
