I got an 1980 Honda XR80 for free about 15 years ago. It was missing the seat, all plastic and exhaust. I thought why not do something different with it so I made a mini replica of of late 50s BSA Gold Star 500cc MX bike. I thought it was cool.

The Tul-Aris 800 has a modified Polaris snowmobile engine mated to a Ducati gearbox, produces 183hp and weighs 262lbs.

I frequently wonder if there's a sled engine that will readily mate to a Harley primary and transmission; the options are very limited when it comes to twin/triple cylinder 2 smokes.

That's a beast! Is that a 1980 KX80 tank on there?

I was also about to mention the tank, when I saw it so many delightful memories of being a 10yr old kid came flooding back.

I'd love to see pics and descriptions of the bikes the early GP competitors built in their shops .

This one struggles a bit with stadium whoops but it will pull a plow nicely.

I always thought they did a good job on this bike that was auctioned off for the Caselli foundation.7LVNB2RX5PW56X4ADE5QDF6ZWU.jpg?VersionId=XRMhyxY8YpI2M

Why do you run the exhaust under the feet of the sidecar rider?

Any polaris sled engine will drive a Harley gear box . The crank shafts are (at least were ) tapered , I'm not sure if that would effect how a sprocket stays in place if it was driving a gear box ,maybe if it was straight with a key would be alot safer bet.

Screenshot 20240309 125921 Googlelast time this got posted someone chimed in with a link to the bike build . The guy machined the crankcase in his garage and used twin cr500 cylinders before mounting it in a race bike . It was a really detailed build with tons of pictures and information. Hopefully someone is able to remember where the story was.

Why do you run the exhaust under the feet of the sidecar rider?

Big two strokes work better with longer pipes, that’s why they snake right around the opposite side on a regular bike, it’s common to run the pipe through the sidecar in our sport, it gives you much more scope to perfectly tune the exhaust length 😎👍

holyshiet dude, I've never seen this and i would love to ride it on a dry lake bed.. seems like it would be way too much for a vet track and you'd probably die trying to ride it at glen helen
