Apparently Jett in Daytona was the best he’s ever seen a human ride a dirt bike in person. I wasn’t there, so maybe it didn’t transfer to TV. But that is a bit of a bold statement

.. no?

Looks like someone has Jett fever 🤒 ...and people paid for this? Magoo kicked the world's ass 4 consecutive motos! Orrrrr....1980 the 500cc United States Grand Prix motocross race at Carlsbad Marty Moates! 1986 Bailey vs RJ went tooth n nail lap after lap.

The disrespect for the other riders and the history of the sport is absolutely nuts. Goofballs on Vital I expect it, but not from DB...

If I passed Chase and Eli in the same section, I bet I’d be pretty proud of my ride.  Jett was on a completely different level than the rest of the field last week.  Can’t say that I disagree with Blair.

That was nowhere near Stew at Toronto in 2014.

It can be an impressive ride without being the best in history. Tomac almost lapper Dungey at Hangtown in 2015. JS7 blew past everyone in Toronto 2014. Jett just had 1 section more figured out than the rest and lost time outside of that section

Jett literally was only fast in that 1 rhythm section. That's it.. the glazing is still going strong with you clowns..

And the section where he passed Eli and Chase like they weren't even there .

Tomac at Hangtown 2015 is the best anyone has ever ridden a dirtbike IMO.

Wait so he followed for a couple/few laps, passed them both and then built up a "12 second lead", but was only faster in that 1 rhythm section and losing time otherwise? Lol

It was a 14 lap race, Chase led the first what 3-1/2 laps, then Jett backed it down on the last lap and a half after a 12 second lead.

Yeah that was insane . Some of Kenny's rides in the 2016 nationals are up there too .

Kenny at Millville coming from outside the top 20 in the first corner to the lead in 1 or 2 laps was wild, then just 1 corner in ('21 maybe?) when he passed Barcia on the outside before Mt Martin was mindblowing too.

In fairness and if I remember correctly, Daniel named Jett as a generational talent a long time ago.

So hard to compare especially with how different their styles are. That said Eli’s is by far my favorite technique. That full throttle out-muscle the bike aggression insanity never gets old to me.

I'll take Grant Lanston's word for it when he said it's the fastest he's ever seen anyone go on a motocross track. Langston who raced prime RC and James Stewart.

Edit: Tomac 2015 Hangtown I mean

Stew another phenom obviously but I hate seeing these guys get hurt and he always seemed past the ragged edge like he didn’t give AF about himself (or his competitors) in his quest to be the fastest man on earth. Like Jett and MC he clearly changed the game though.

Great ride yes, I feel like I've seen more impressive.  RC lapping the field comes to mind, was there for it.

Correct, they were both losing 2 seconds a lap in that section. Sector times exist man.. you can look them up

Two that stand out for me ...

Tortelli at GH in '99 i think. Passed EVERYONE as he came from outside top 20 in BOTH motos to go 1-1. I remember the commentary by Baily something along the lines of "he will have a hard time passing these riders as he moves into the top 5" and then Tortelli then proceeds to pass like 3 riders in what seemed like 3 turns.  Baily was left speechless.

RC in the mud lapping second place.

15 Hangtown I think is the fastest someone has ever ridden a dirt bike on an MX track. Toronto 14 was fastest ever on a SX track. There wasn’t 1 section in both those rides where someone was even close.

I remember watching that with my pops,  I was absolutely sure RC was going to win it, dad was a reed fan.  Fantastic race. I'll always wonder if 259 was there, and they started 1-2-3.

Is this across the entire race? Because Jett backed off the pace with about 4 laps to go and really cruised it home that last lap.

That skews the stats considerably. For all sections TBH.
