I’m sure you’ve seen the terrible ads, either online or during the Super Bowl. It’s a data collection app veiled as an e-commerce app (basically Tik Tok). However, I have a buddy that swears by it, and he’s ordered a dozen “100%” goggles. I originally figured they were knockoffs, but after seeing/touching them, it seems more likely that the manufacturing facility is wholesaling them through this app. I checked out the site, and there’s an insane amount of moto gear for 1/4 (or less) the price it would be otherwise…. 100% Armegas, Scott prospects, and jerseys/pants from TLD, FXR, Fox, and Fasthouse. I don’t use it, nor do I judge any one that does. I’m more so curious as to how this is possible, and are these brands fighting back?

Some of it is real and just being sold out the back door of the manufacturing plant. Others are straight knock offs.

Bought 3 pairs of Armega's. Only one pair would fit 100 percent lenses. Other 2 were knock off's.

Before anyone bitches at me for buying. Please realize my industry is filled with illegal immigrants who pay zero taxes, that's my competition. When you guys start giving a fuck about the guy cutting your grass, I'll stop supporting Temu.

I have been tempted to buy some things off there. Haven’t pulled the trigger on anything but I would for some things for sure.

Were they all from the same vendor? If so, I wonder how that happens. Could TEMU be selling the minor defects? I started thinking that at some threshold, 100% would want to move to a different manufacturer to avoid back door sales. Ideally back to NA, but the cost of loss is likely still significantly less than NA manufacturing.

I don't blame ya....

Goggle companies are off their fucking rockers with pricing.

$120 for some Armegas that cost less than $10 to produce....fuck that.  I'm all for a company making a profit, but I don't wanna pay insane prices for goggles so that they can pay ol' Jett or whoever else six figures to wear them.

With enough research you can find the suppliers for damn near anything overseas and buy direct. Those ridge wallets that are like 100$. You can find the supplier and buy them direct for like $5.

Yes from the same vendor, I don't think I could tell which pair were real from the add. I do know the real pair had a 100% logo on the lenses.

I use the knock off scotts for mountain biking. Literally the exact same as real ones. Only difference is the lense is slightly thinner. Even have colorways they don’t sell haha

If these companies are getting back door'd by their overseas suppliers that's on them for putting profit over American labor.

The pulpmx coupon code is for 30% off btw (Pulp30).. so its worth using. I just tried it to make sure it still works.

A word to the wise: Use a throwaway credit card if you do plan to order on Temu. Those CC#s are one of the data points they are collecting.

I've haven't bought from TEMU but I've heard you should use a credit card that you don't often use and can easily cancel without headache.  People I know who bought from there had credit card fraud on the cards they used for TEMU.

Lundmx just did a video on the goggles gloves grips and I forget what else. Pretty sure he said the gloves were legit. Said the goggles plastic was different. I would guess they're made in the same place the others are.

I haven't bought gear from Temu, but I saw a Facebook post on a moto group about it. I was expecting the OP to get absolutely roasted, but all of the comments were from people who bought gear from Temu and had zero complaints.

One person said they bought the actual gear, then a second set from Temu, and they don't which is which.

I would avoid the site all together. It's just a giant Chinese state run project designed to analyze you as a consumer.

IMG 2920I’ve used their competitor site AliExpress many times with no issues since I use my due diligence. Temu seems more legit than Ali as far as scams go. I bought a 1996 Trek 800 frame and fork for $20 on OfferUp. I wanted to build it up for the daily grocery getter/beach cruiser. Bought 90% of the parts on AliExpress. All shimano Deore parts, KMC chain, grips, bars, bottom bracket, brakes etc. for SUPER cheap. Everything came packaged and looked/felt real. Everything works amazing. Would never buy parts there for my MTB but for a get around town bike it’s perfect. All of it mirrors my real shimano stuff. Can’t tell if it’s a knock off or not. It has rusted quick in certain areas but it’s been left outside so I’m guessing it could be fake but it looks and feels good! Add a basket and the good old rattle can special and it handles a 6 pack perfectly all the way down to the beach!

My wife buys a lot from there.  I bought rc cars and planes that were pennies on the dollar and the actual real products. I also got a bunch of tools for Christmas some junk but most legit. It started by her buying tons of lingerie from Shein and then Temu. Most of it $2 but the same thing is 80 here.  I got some collapsible fishing rods for my golf bag and car for 1.99 each. Carbon fiber and anodized components and they are tough as nails.  Everything we as Americans buy is mostly imported it's just how many middleman are involved that raises the price. I support local businesses but if you can pay $100 or 99cents for the same product when everything is so expensive right now it helps.

Aliexpress has been doing the same thing for years and years. A lot of it is when they are getting molds and things made those companies make extra and sell to another knock off supplier that makes and sells them. Happens with pretty much every single product made in China. Some may be made in the same factory who knows.

My buddy had a set of Armega knockoffs and they were certainly the same molds but the plastic was way shittier and there is no way im putting those mystery lenses anywhere near my eyes. The stuff the actual companies are selling has to be shatterproof and impact resistant to be sold. 100% has sales all the time you can get old color goggles for $20 or Ive seen Armegas for $45 on sale.

Kinda related, I get a little bit every 6 months or so from AliExpress, not moto stuff just cheap disposable crap that is marked up huge and equally low quality over here.

I use PayPal to pay for stuff assuming that it keeps actual card numbers out of Chinese hands... is this right or wrong? I know PayPal can have its own problems but that's a separate issue.

I have bought a lot of crap from aliexpres... My experience is you do not know what you buy.

I have bought 100% racecraft... some were terrible, some you could not tell if they were originall or not. Two armegas, one looks legit, the other is terrible.

I have bought several TLD and FOX gear.... first sizes are allways wrong... Super big pants, and super small jerseys. Quality on gear has been always crap, specially the pants.... Last fox, pantes were super big, and the waist strap broke second day of use.... I allways promise myself that was the last time.

It is not worth usually....

I've bought from Ali and Temu using my CC with no problems.

Bought 10 air filters for my motorcycle for $3.90 each!  They work and look like good quality.  Have also bought some tools that are as cheap if not cheaper than Harbor Freight and are better quality.  Also adult toys for the wife. Smile

I have bought a lot from Temu, never been tempted to buy any clothing let alone mx kit.  So far I have not had a problem with using apple pay.  I have had a problem with a missing piece from torx bit set & recently a bottle broke in transit (they should have wrapped it in bubble wrap - in both of these refund was instant and no questions asked.

I was at Brands Hatch in feb and someone had a knock off akrapovic on their sv650 that they bought for about $40. The most surprising thing was that it sailed straight through sound testing and held out just fine all day. Pretty crazy.

I used to buy lots of stuff from China and had some great factory manufacturing contacts. One thing I used to buy was sunglasses (several hundred thousand pieces at a time). The quality was great.  We would have them independently tested here to all applicable EU safety and quality standards and they would pass with flying colours.

I know the quantities were high, but the prices were unbelievably cheap compared to retail. We were paying well less than $0.50/pc. If I had asked the factory to upgrade to the very best plastic, trick hinges, the best possible quality lenses/coatings and the most luxurious packaging they could provide, I would have struggled to get the price above a dollar a piece.

Bought fast house jeresys that were good.

Bought some prospects that were not.  Wrong size post and frames did not release the lens the same.
