Wow, I usually do not watch lengthy videos, but that was worth watching (for many reasons), thank you for sharing.
I know we are all going to interpret that one way or another, but it sounds like a great time for Austin to find something that brings him joy off of the bike.
Oh the irony..
Man I hope he recovers well from this one, it was brutal. It'd be a shame to watch him retire from the sport but if it's for his own health and well being, then I also hope he knows that we all support his decision. Stay strong AF!
Dude, no reason tp be a fuckin cunt.

Fall 7 times get up 8.....You can do this. Prayers sent for this young man.
I guess you are fine with him acting like one? ”Dude”…
I’d like to see him go to a psychologist if he’s never gone before. Not even a sport’s psychologist specifically, just a psychologist that he can trust. There’s a few things in there I think he could benefit from talking about a little deeper with a professional outside of the industry. He’s been through one of the toughest careers so far in the sport, I hope he can make whatever changes he needs to be successful in his own mind.
Poor kid, I hope the best for him.
If you don't see the differences in the situations, then you are too fucking stupid to insult.
Then back up your post. Explain the irony. Instead of just posting some cryptic nonsense that makes you look like a total asshat.
I've never been a fan of Forkner, but would you rather he NOT post something that seems pretty raw and honest?
He's been hurt a lot, yep. Bad luck, self-inflicted, whatever you want to call it, that's fine. But to post that crap after a near-miss crash that could have ended his career or put him in a chair, and his raw peek inside his head....man you must be a pretty miserable person.
There is ZERO difference. He gave another person shit for crying and being sad for caused him a injury, real classy right? And now he sits here a couple of weeks later crying and people feel so sad for him?.
this just makes it even harder to like him since he is a massive hypocrit. Sitting there and talking about god and a bigger picture while he acted like a real shit head not that long ago.
I was crying with him, I wear glasses, I don't want to deal with contacts and my eyes also change every year. Also I saw a comment on that post saying the monster logo is demonic and that is the thing that leads to him crashing or something along the lines of that. I don't care enough about it to think about it, I am just a fan of the sport, I don't drink the energy drinks anyways, I don't even drink soda because of the carbonation.
What a fucking duchebag comment.....
What would any of us do after a pro career full of injuries, then watching this gnarly crash that easily could have left him as a quad? Even watching the replay in slow motion, it's like his body fucking explodes on the concrete. The seriousness steps well outside of "yay moto!" and brings you into real life stuff and I think he's right to have those thoughts. If I were him and if I thought I could dial it back to 98% and still feel satisfied, I'd try to get the entire Canadian outdoors under my belt, enjoy the races and their chill paddock vibes, and then reevaluate if things were successful. Get that baseline under your belt to feel good and build confidence. If I thought that all I knew was to pin it all the time, I'd quit on the spot. That wouldn't be a hard decision for me, because there's just way too much other stuff in life to enjoy beyond moto.
I used to not be a fan. I am now. Heal up Forky!
Sounds like it might be tough to come back from mentally. Hope he can do it.
That's your reason to make a douchebag comment on an injured rider.....you just need to go away. Jett's a great kid but some of his fan are just asshats...
Pit Row
Ah, so he should have posted what now, exactly? Should he learn and move on, and post a mature and raw video? Wait...that's what he did.
So you'd be more satisfied if he stayed the immature punk kid he used to be? I'm still confused.
Let's judge you based on your worst day and see how that goes?
The problem is the fact you have no problem posting here, probably would have no problem posting that as a comment on his video....but no way in hell you go to his next race and say hey Austin, that video you posted is ironic considering how you handled the Jett crash.
The ironic part is we are all internet tough guys. You're just a miserable one kicking a kid who's clearly in somewhat of a crisis after a brutal crash that could have changed his entire life, not just his career.
As i said, his injury don’t give him a free pass acting how he want. You might think it’s okay but i just fint it ironic.
Are you seriously that narrow minded that you belive that it has to do with jett? It has to do with forkners acting no matter who is at the reciving end of it.
Heal up Forkner, you will be good to go and this will blow over! I didn't know you had a weak arm and that's what was clear to me from your crash is that your hand slipped off the bars, but I noticed other riders who also clipped the table were able to hold on. That's probably the biggest thing you need to assess for your future is whether you think it's strong enough to continue, or weak enough to cause another bad crash. Other than that, the bigger lesson learned is no one should ever ride with impaired vision, even if it means pulling off while leading a race.
Prayers sent, keep your chin up!
That was indeed a tough watch. It's only been 4 days or so since the crash. With him being unconscious for several minutes, he is still suffering concussion symptoms, just the way he was talking and pulling together his thoughts. Way too early to make any kind of decisions about the future and he mentioned that. This one hit home for him harder than the some of the other injuries, it would seem. Feel sorry for him. I'm hoping he will bounce back in a few weeks and be able to more clearly assess where he needs to head next with his career. I'd love to see him back on the track but if down the road he decides to hang it up then I wish him the best in whatever direction he decides to go. Hang in there Austin. Take time to recover and then start thinking about your future.
A kid? He is a grown man and i will judge him and his acting based on that.
He can sit there and cry how much he want, but if he choose to do that, maybe just maybe, he should stop throwing shit on others that show emotions and empathy?
That is the ironic part in this…
I think the body has to work as such a unit to go fast on a dirt bike that old injuries that pile up and don't ever completely heal become a hazard in themselves. When you are capable of going as fast as Austin is it's really amplified. There is no doubt that his old upper body injuries had a huge effect on that crash and his strength to hold the bike and control it.
I was a big fan of the come back. Rooting for him big time. It also takes a real man to be honest with himself and make decisions that are not influenced by others. I hope Austin does what's best him when the dust settles from this and not what others think he should do, whatever that may be.
I believe there's a scripture in the Bible, where Jesus tells a group of religious people who are ready to stone a woman who was caught in adultery..."Those of you who have no sin, cast the first stone!".
Not trying to have a religious discussion here, but all of us, even you, have acted stupid...and said things we shouldn't have said. I'm not a Forkner fan, but I believe in giving Grace where it's due. Maybe you could see clear to do the same thing, instead of acting like you're a perfect example of a human being.
You're coming off like an attention whore.
Just saying...
The ironic part is the fact you are also a grown man, yet you can't handle being judged here and now based on YOUR "acting" like a total dick.
I had a big digger in 2003 that knocked me out until I was just being lifted into the meat wagon. Other than the concussion, my only injuries were three ribs, punctured lungs and a broken collarbone. I'm still thankful that there's no video of the crash. I probably would have never gotten back on the bike. It was awhile before I worried about how busted up the bike was. Oddly enough, it came through with tweaked bars and a taco'd front brake rotor.
Also, decades ago a buddy broke his collarbone after a trip over the bars. When we took him in for X-rays, they said, "Did you know you broke your neck?" as he had broken a couple of spinous processes in a high school wrestling meet. Oddly enough, he hadn't been aware of what he'd done, just that it hurt. And he was back racing three weeks later.
I'm 63. I think of people a lot older than that as kids. Some of them have shown signs of becoming adults.
Well, im an atheist so i don’t know anything that stands in the bible.
Appropriate.
