When you think of KTM, what rider comes to mind?

For me, it's Mike Alessi during the early Red Bull KTM days. Alpinestars gear, Shark helmets, and Smith goggles.

Oh Hell yeah. Mike Heely,s style was sooo sick.  I was rooting for him to win.  I never saw this pic Wow that dude is feeling it.  I do a tamer version of the pic but I am 57.  DV12 you should race the 2 st world championship at GH. Just pretend it’s 98 Fox Hills on the Yz125.

Not necessarily a particular rider, but as a kid, going through all the magazines I loved the 1998 KTM 250SX or any of the KTM bikes in that era. It's always the first thought that jumps into my mind when I think of KTM.

RD5 and AC222. Also DeCoster, even though he never raced a KTM, he led the US team from second class to major player.

Being about the same age as DV it’s Healey for me.  Only could see a little of the GP stuff in the magazines…but I remember seeing him at the Golden State races in 89/90 battling with the top US guys and winning.  I remember one round maybe ‘90 with him and Kiedrowski going at it…

John Finkeldey, # 611, probably one of the first factory KTM riders. New Englander from Westbrook, CT on the shore. Was active in early to mid '80's. Guy was a monster. Back problems shortened/ended his pro career. His family owned a garbage collecting company. He trained by running behind the truck and tossing garbage cans in the back.

Kinigadner or Vanderven…. Both great at Unadilla back in the early 80”s…

I think of my dad, Boo Stichter. He was one of the early “KTM factory riders” and had some good support in 1979. Crazy to hear the stories of how, back then, the KTM motorcycles were so far behind the factory hand built Hondas, among other brands. To see the success of the KTM brand/group today is amazing from what they were back then.

Absolute legends and die hard KTM guys .

I agree with these. Moises for sure as he was the first rider to win on the world stage for KTM. I didn't get to see him ride but I did see him in 86 at a 250GP in Holland. He was there with an old bus with about 6 or so KTM riders from Russia.

I think of MC cause it was in my younger years where moto was all I thought about. He was the highest profile rider by far they had ever signed. And I also think about it because of how awful it went.

Dunge/GL would be next

I must say..... (shocking, right?)......  the white KTMs with blue seats and red frames looked so much better than pumpkin orange modern ones.
