I thought it was 90% rider, 10% bike.
Awesome for Ken and his kickstart...
I'd love to see Suzuki update that ol horse..
Yeah....those old dinosaur outdated Suzukis sure suck....
A non factory team putting it to the factory teams again. Love it.
It is unless you are at a pro level. Ask Tomac how his setup is working out. I am a Tomac fan BTW but he and his bike are not one with another this year. Ken looked great on his bike.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while..
With the bikes now days I believe it’s more like 98% rider ..all of us have our preferences, some just have way to high of expectations thinking the bike should set up for them from the factory , then I think some ppl listen to and follow media shootouts and if the media says something then Joe blow “felt it when he rode one too” once Suzuki gets electric start the talking will minimize …any bike can be Taylor’d to you …but some ppl get lost in the sauce chasing clickers and “valving “ that they lose how the bike felt when it was pretty good and they wanted better … nothing is going to feel good 100% of the track … it’s a give take and ppl don’t understand that and that’s ok that’s what makes aftermarket parts sales … oh and doesn’t matter what us on vital ride Carson brown can still beat all of us on a 1986 Cr 125
That was a great performance by Ken and the bike worked well too, although it looks long and heavy on the track compared to the Kawi, Honda and KTMs.
Not that I wanna go into the kickstart debate, but I wanna know how much points he would have this season if the bike had an electric start? It cost him big time in the mud..
If that nut is 450SX wins and Premier class MXON overalls, that blind squirrel is eating good...
No argument about that, and my comment is purely about Suzuki and the stagnant state of the RMZ. All credit goes to KR for a great ride!
WOW I DIND CHEER THIS HARD AT THE RACES ON TV FOR A LONG TIME AND REAL GLAD THIS GUY GETS HIS FIRST WIN FOR SUSZUKI
Does anyone else want to fill this guy in?
I'm pretty amazed at how fast he's riding the ole' yellow Cadillac. W + fastest lap of the night:
At least on the spec sheet, the new Kawi is both longer and heavier than the RMZ in stock form.
The aftermarket has had a very long time to improve this bike.
Is he REALLY riding a 2013 model bike?
Lurk more. Post less.
I had a 2011 RMZ450. Still my favorite bike while riding. Electric start would have been nice though.
Pit Row
Don't use common sense.
Get on board, the Suzuki sucks, duh....
/s
I have loved all my suzuki's and love the ones I still have. Currently have a 2014RMZ 450 and a 2005 RM250
BarbieKen making all the 'setup is off and, that other bike is better' guys look like complaining little girlieboys.
On the contrary...
Ken is a championship contender this season. A third and a win the past two races.....
Hmmmm. But it has lost EVERY 450 shoot out for like 5 years now....... lol. Happy for Suzuki and Roczen.
Last night was Kens 2nd win on the Zook in 2023/2024 (... I honestly can't recall if he won an SX with RCH)
So Kenny is riding that much better than anyone else he is able to overcome the handicap that comes with riding a “10 year old bike” ?
the Suzuki is as competitive as anything else on that line.
I bet you ride austrian.
I actually picked up my free Pro Circuit RM-Army pipe this morning.
Really? When did the KX gain that much weight?
However, my comment was: it looked long and heavy. Could be a setup thing. Very stiff suspension setting can make a bike look twice as big on the track. Jason‘s KX, Jett‘s CR and Chase‘s SX look all more agile.
It works for Kenny, so it’s all good.
Legendary man!
KR is riding an old design that’s 100% dialed in, there’s no track condition that they don’t have a long proven setup to run. So KR is able to focus on his health and not worry about his bike.
There’s a pattern of new design bikes and race wins. Whenever a new design is introduced, the riders on the new bike don’t win as much for the first season, that’s likely because they’re R&Ding setup. 2nd season and beyond, they’ve got it figured out and don’t get surprised by conditions nearly as much. The Suzuki is a dinosaur, and that’s not always a bad thing.
Great guess on my bike? As I’ve posted several times, I ride an orange 450 linkage chassis with a 500exc motor (for the 6 speed, not the displacement). But I long ago gave up fooling myself that a better bike would make me faster, I’m slow on my best day and it’s not caused by my equipment. I’m just not sure how my personal bike is related to the fact that Suzuki still sells a rideable bike that’s 3 generations behind the competition?
🍻
It doesn't hurt that Kenny is probably one of the smoothest riders on the track. The Suzuki has never done anything weird, very stable looking bike
