So I’m listening to the Moto60 show and every show this season Matthes tries to make Zach squirm and admit that he’s riding something but can’t talk about it. It’s well known that he’s close to the program and with most of the team being former Husqvarna guys it sure makes sense that they would have him race the bike this year in GNCC.
Am I drunk or is it not really obvious what’s going on?
He did fucking terrible at GNCC. He’s racing outdoors for club and most likely on a 250 as pulp said multiple times this week
Mathes said he thinks something for the nationals is cooking up for zacho recently with club perhaps if he had to guess.
He’s been riding a Yamaha with clubs sponsor parts most likely done deal

He said there was talks with teams for the Canadian nationals. He’s probably a title favorite or serious contender there I’d imagine.
Whatever Zach does on whatever brand of ICE 2-wheels, I fully support.
Unless things recently changed, they couldn't make it work, so the team is still looking for a rider.
Dude is a moto rider for the most part, pretty sure this past season proved that.

he said before, his back can't take the G's from supercross, but woods and moto it was better.
One Canadian team I know of said the price was too high, he also said the price and I was abit shocked if that was the asking price.

I picked up on that a couple weeks ago, Matthes asked him what color bike he was riding and he said blue. Ended there, a nice tease.
Say the price. This is why Moto will never compare to other sports bc people don’t spill the beans on the good stuff.
This is one I can't say as I was asked by the source/very close friend not to repeat the exact number, sorry. I get it, "moto journalists suck". I regularly state contract or bonus prices I hear on podcasts and as often as I can in the forum, this one is a no-go though.

The why the teaser? I know he didn't get hired because he wanted too much money, and boy it was a lot of money but I won't tell you? I just do not get the insider stuff that goes on in this sport. Just say a Canadian team wanted him but they couldn't finalize things, not the whole I know something you don't know stuff. The way it is stated could make it seem you are bull shitting about knowing the facts as well, not that you are.
Or ML could say a Canadian team offered $?? amount and it was not enough. No ‘disclosing’ clubmx figure so alls good…..
That's how you burn bridges. If someone tells you something off the record and asks you not to quote exact figures, you either respect their wishes or burn them and lose the trust of everyone else in the industry. Pretty easy to understand

I completely understand not sharing information provided off-record after giving your word to the source, but as said above, teasing it is lame.
I'm just saying, the Triumph 250 woods racing story line would be pretty damn juicy.
There is another party involved that isn't the rider. They will be around longer than any rider. That's the bridge Michael doesn't want to burn.

I dont understand this trend to complain about moto media not coming forth with every tidbit of info. Ppl don't understand that if said media member does go public with info asked not to be shared, then they basically won't get info anymore. Similar to how they sit on new bike info until embargo lifts. If MXA drops info earlier, how do you think that will go? Not worth it. Ppl should just be happy you have these guys to give us tidbits as they get them.
Pretty cool if we see him running a ClubMX bike, after his whole part in establishing the place years ago.
