Yes, exactly. Eli is best outdoors and he will be fully back in race form by May. If he had not gotten hurt last year it would have been an epic battle. Too bad we didn't get to see that. ET3 is a four-time champ including three in a row. Only RC ever did that if I recall.

So nobody went and got any insight from the team? Even if it was a "no comment", did anyone even try?

No. Most Vital members made it clear that the riders should not be made to answer to the media.

It’s funny to read all the comments about “he’s out of the championship” “he’s in 6th over all, too far back” “he’s 16 points behind.”  With how everyone has been riding this year he could win a few, a couple guys could have bad races, and bam! Right back in the mix.

Chase said it best I. The post race press conference yesterday. “The red plate on matters at the end of the series.”

Eli should just stay focused on the 'comeback' in general and not any single race. If he really wants to 'beat Jett' it will have to be this summer in the Nationals. That will be his best shot at it.

If he decides to do the Nationals. Not so much you but I see quite a few people talking like it's a given he's going to race this summer.

Let's not write Tomac off yet like when Vital wrote off Webb after Paris...

Oh, I can see him not riding the Nationals for sure. Just hope he will. But if the fire is gone he might as well not.

As uncomfortable as he looked, if it was a flat tire or blown shock, he would have pulled off.  He started moving backwards almost immediately.  No way he would have stayed out for the whole main event with broken motorcycle.  If nothing else, it would have provided a solid excuse for that performance.  I think the silence speaks volumes in this case.

Eli gives a fuck about excuses, he's a competitor and knows he still can win. He wants points, if he's sick as a dog, he's still going to ride for points, if the bike's a problem, he'll finish the race for points. Like him or not, ET3 is bad ass. I'm not sure why all the hate that he's done but they'll get to enjoy a meal of crow before long.

Riders continue to ride with some bike issues all the time.  Hampshire had a flat in one of the motos last week or the week before, and finished the race.

Eli showed just last week he can beat them all and was right there in qualifying. He just had one of those weird "Kawi era" nights probably...most likely arm pump. Maybe he was putting in a lot of fence posts again last week.

I see a lot of comments like ohh tomac usually starts the championship slow etc. He has 2 titles in 11 or 12 years. So he also usually looses the title. And the reason he has so many wins is he gets majority of the wins in the 2nd half coz the red plate is sitting on a cushion.

Kinda like Anderson did 2 years ago. Tomac had the cushion and let Anderson get something like 6 from the last 10 wins.

I’m sure he can rebound and get back to the top step but as far as competing for titles I think that ship has sailed. Hope I’m wrong but he’s finished outside of the top five in three of the five races and got pretty lucky to end up second last week. Glendale will be a huge test for him IMO, if he can’t run up front there that will be alarming.

One of us will be proven wrong come May.  That’s the fun part about bench racing.

He dog walked these guys in the 3rd main last weekend. Yeah it was a triple crown but you would think they sprint even harder in the shorter mains. Jett won easy last night and he couldn't catch Tomac last week. I don't think there is some new pace that's blowing his mind

3rd main the results are pretty much decided no one needed to run with him ( not saying he wasn't flying )

Tell that to Anderson who was penalized one spot in the 3rd main and it knocked him off the podium, also dropped him in the overall standings.   Your statement is laughable.

You can’t tell me Jett wasnt thinking about closing that gap and passing Eli and making a statement that 3rd moto last weekend.

Actually just rewatched the heats.

He wasn't all that great in his heat either.

Agree with others that his rear suspension looked way too soft.

Reminder- Sexton pretty well matched Eli outdoors in 2022, then Chase was ‘owned’ by Jett outdoors 2023.

I'm not going back to read the whole thread but is there a lot of hate? Seems like fans just wondering what happened.  His riding seemed to be trending up every week and it was a head scratcher of a result. Why can't you give an honest critique of a rider anymore without being calling a hater? Or if you say something positive you're a fanboy.

To be fair, Chase couldn’t go a single race outdoors without laying it down last year. He showed numerous times he could hang with Jett til his front wheel forks

Eli has obviously had several off rides in his career, but I think that's the first time I've seen him get a good start and then just totally drop anchor and fall outside of the top 10.

Usually when he’s super hard on the clutch you’ll see the bike smoke a bit. I didn’t see any of that last night. I thought maybe a flat rear judging how sometimes he would launch a bit weird into the rhythm section. I didn’t notice anybody else getting squirrelly like he was on that jump. Flat tire and arm pump combo? Who knows

The usually private Tomac camp may not report the issue.

Assume sick w Cooper Webb bug, possible small  injury, or arm pump

But... I jokingly stated to a Jett fan who said "flame on", about having Jettson doughnut frosting on his lips and you said that was "irrational hate for the guy"

Practice what you preach 🤥

Doesn’t that prove he couldn’t hang with Jett??
