I took a drink every time they mentioned Jett and I had alcohol poisoning by the 2nd 250 gate drop.

I'm not a hater of the kid by any means, but the over saturation is a bit much - and that's all on Feld. I can't recall a time in the sport's televised history where the broadcast went PiP during a race to show a rider either getting suited up, or picking their gate.

It was the first time they were on camera together after the blow up . Can You remember a time were something like the exchange that they had blew up? I don't remember many relatively small misteps like that , that blew up like it did. They wanted to be there just in case something happened and show it live. With the crazy amount of interest in the incident , I think they did the right thing.   Just imagine if they started talking and things got heated again. But they totally missed it. People would be going nuts asking how could they not have had cameras on them.

Now knowing nothing happened, it is easy to say they could have just recorded it and shown a playback or not at all. But put yourself in the place of the producers. They were trying to make sure they got the action.

I noticed this too, but most of these guys are blinded by their bias and only see the camera on Jett again.

They managed to capture Jett approaching the gate with Ando already there, and had the two together for the first time we’ve seen since the ‘incident’. Nothing eventuated, but it was still an interesting moment after their meltdown.

Many crosses to Jett are not warranted, but that moment certainly was imo.

The possibility of catching fireworks last week makes sense, but it doesn't account for cutting to Jett at the truck getting geared up during every moto outdoors last year, or cutting to a full screen of his reaction to Hunter being taken out at A1. In all the time I've been watching this sport, I can't recall ever seeing anything like that before.

And before the "Americans don't like foreigners" crowd chimes in, I'm a big fan of Hunter. I can't wait until he puts it all together and gets up front where he belongs.

Why would anyone care?  We’ve had brothers.  Never before have we had the over the top coverage of them.

To the point that the go to reason is "American's hate foreigners that win" narrative, to me I don't care where he comes from but only in how he handles his success and failures in the public eye. Hate is such an over used word that is used in the place of tired of...we are tired of the over exposure that for the majority was intentional and brought on by his management. We are tired of his super fans that were making insane claims so early in his career path. We are tired of some of the dumb shit he says and does, the KR incident, the MC comparison, the JA incident and the way he and his team handled (or didn't handle) it, his response regarding the mud race and how he disrespected his competitors with that comment...hopefully he is able to learn from this and correct the path he is on.

I had written down a list of all the times they unnecessarily cut away to show a non-important clip of Jett @ A2... I barely got thru the 2nd 450 race and gave up. I wasted too much energy to show the people the truth and I got arm pump writing down all the incidents... about time someone else showed the over-saturation. Thank God. I love this.

There was a guy that said he counted how many times they said Jetts name on the broadcast for San Fran, I think it was. It was a ridiculous number like 600. Imagine admitting to anyone you wasted a race counting something so idiotic. I'd be embarrassed

They may be overdoing it a bit with the Jett attention, but Jett & Deegan are a youth infusion that SX needed. I’ve always watched SX and for years closely followed all the message boards, magazines, etc. But for a while SX has been just a tad boring for me. Still watched every race, but didn’t follow it that closely beyond watching. Jett & Deegan drew me back in.

The reason people don’t like Jett is because a ‘why don’t people like Jett’ thread can go 7 pages, 200 comments and show no sign of slowing down. Good job nerds you got me to respond

Haha i can't believe that people are so incredibly anti Jett that some of you claim that his 22-0 in the 450 class as a rookie wouldn't put him in the all-timer bracket (or at the very, very minimum on the brink of it).

Sure, the dude made mistakes with the Anderson deal. Sure, he is getting a lot of exposure (95% of it is deserved). But what he did in the summer of 2023 surely puts him in the bracket as an all-time rider. It says a lot about you if you are unable to separate his exposure, his mistakes, his person from the achievement that he did in 2023.

IMG 8911 0.jpeg?VersionId=snrSP1F omvBIlWho did he beat to go 22-0 ?  Chase was riding the sx title high & was moving on to Ktm. So there was no pressure to perform. I forgot his 1st rnd head injury, that was the biggest reason he couldn’t let it hang out. Another hard ding & he wouldn’t be able to get the Ktm setup.  Eli was out so name a rider that win ?  Ken lead a moto & stalled it.  The MC # of 72 is impressive kinda. But I saw a lot of Luck to get the later wins. 96 Seattle Huffman figured out how to race the 250 class in his 1st yr. Easily ran MC down then fried his clutch. Quick adjusters were on every bike the next week. Everyone knew that was Damon,s win if his clutch didn’t fry. The next week Damon easily won. Then blew his knee out testing the 125.  Ezra on the 98,99 Honda was faster but freak things like a tuff block cover wrapped around his front wheel cost him the championship.  RC let Mc win the 72nd & said you,ll never get another. And he never did.  Huffman should’ve won most of the races 96 to 2000 . But the engineers & the corporation more or less forced him to use the 97 frame, etc and it sucked. 98- 2000 ish the kx250 was garbage. Emig was a 96 champ so he  said I,m using the 96 setup. Damon was the giny pig racing with the new setup that was junk. Nobody did anything on the 97- 20000 setups. Dowd couldn’t even get it rt to win on sand tracks.L. Ward couldn’t ride it but beat stew on a stock 250f 3 yrs later. The KX was a terrible bike. Emig was happy he didn’t hv to ride it anymore after getting fired. Damon would,ve took 20 wins off MC easily. If he stuck with the 96 setup. Like MC using a 93 frame in 96 yet. Think about it the most dominant 125 sx rider with  the most podiums ever. And he rides a 250 better. The cr250 was a dominant Cheater bike. Look what MC did on the Suzuki.  The last 20+ wins where because of other riders bad decisions. So I don’t really see the 72 win # as a big deal. It should’ve been 44.

IMG 8919 0.jpeg?VersionId=MkUicqgZGli2Uqlta1Impressive but who else could win in the 450 class .  Dylan was injured, 21 he should’ve but I think he was figuring out how to be a dad, CC ?  Ap7 not sure why he couldn’t get it going more of a 4-5 guy.  If Jett raced in 95 that wouldn’t be a 22-0.  His style is for a 450 and not really that fun to watch.  Looks like a robot on the bike.  The only riders that hv style r 21 and Barcia. All the others look the same really. If you’re wondering that’s my Dutch Mother.  We look a lot a like except for Gq jaw bone. Elis island said in America Irma is spelled Erma. 1st day here her name was changed.  The lady was incorrect tho.  My mom changed her middle name when she became a legal citizen from Chistine Ann like all Dutch girls to Rae.  Not because of Marylin Monroe. A older girl in school had Rae for a middle name.  Everyone here is from somewhere else. I don’t see being from a different country a big deal as a racer here. But it might be a big deal if a Canadian was winning here. Haha

Everyone sticking a endoscope up his arse and passing judgment might want to think twice. Are you actually better than him?

I have no doubt that he will mature and achieve a good living and retirement from his current profession.

Those of you who are losing sleep over Jetts current trajectory in life, please feel free to state your profession, age and what you have achieved.

Let's compare....

A foreigner that is a real threat to the Americans on their home turf is very often disliked by them. Ask JMB, Pourcel, Reed, Ferrandis, Lawrence brothers... Some are also just waiting till the "foreigner" puts one foot wrong to lynch him. Remember when Marvin Musquin did what KTM expected him to do, help Ryan Dungey to claim the SX Championship over Eli Tomac? From than on, even Marvin Musquin had haters.

So to sum it up, he's a foreigner who's a real threat for championships the coming years. Than you've the fact that FELD together with his agent Lucas Mirtl are trying to make him the new RC, Stewart, McGrath... annoys people. But they need to know that someone with the poster boy quality, who also wants to be the poster boy of the sport isn't found easily. We didn't saw Tomac, Sexton, Anderson step up for example. For most people is one of those two reasons enough. But if they aren't enough you can combine them with that stupid farce against Jason Anderson, and how he personally made it worse with unfollowing Jason Anderson, while his crew already handled the situation.

But in dutch we've a saying that goes as followed: If you are willing to beat the dog, you will always find a tool to do it. What I mean is: When you are an American SX & MX fan who has an American favorite, you don't need much to dislike, hate or even bash Jett Lawrence.

To be honest I never cared for Jett even when he was on the 250. I always pulled for his older brother than Jett.

Come on. Welcome to sports, buddy. People have their favorites, and people have their heels. There's nothing deeply personal or ill-contrived about rooting against a handful of athletes. Are Georgia football fans deeply fucked-up individuals for rooting against Alabama?

As a UGA man I 100% authorize this post. College football is religion in the Deep South.  Well said, Tom Lopez.  Go Dawgs!

Who did James Stewart beat to go 24-0 in 2008

To be honest I never cared for Jett even when he was on the 250. I always pulled for his older brother than Jett.

IMG 8927 0Oh yeah I remember now. Rt from the start they filmed short stuff on how Jett is the funny, hyper , crazy 1 of the family. I watch the vid open minded then it ends.  And I,m like I didn’t hear anything funny.  Unless calling your dog a poo poo is hilarious in Australia. Haha   Kinda of reaching too hard to promote someone.  Throw a few of those out there & people get tired of the guy.blonde girl is my Dutch aunt.  Mom & baby from Holland also. More foreigns

I don't dislike Jett as a person. I despise his fans and the need they feel to have 487 threads about him here on vital. I hate cutting away from racing to see him scratch his nuts. The coverage and his fans are the reason I will be joining in the boos next weekend in Phoenix.

Seriously? Other then this thread asking why the hate for Jett there are way more hater threads then threads gushing over him? Maybe stop following him on Twitter or instagram if he bugs you so much.

I arrived home in a shit mood yesterday thanks to some scumbag stealing my bag with my laptop, wallet, drivers license, bank cards etc...the c@nt has created a effing monumental ball ache for me.

Anyways, life goes on. Wishing you all a good day / evening.

Sorry to hear Boom.     Thieves are scum.    Seems the world has decided to just let them have their way anymore without consequences.   I can't imagine the PITA it would be to replace all this shit in my wallet.

As for Kiwifan...I suspect he'll be back sooner or later.   Seems kinda lame to get that upset over some joking around.

Yup ^^^^^    One small deviation though, not all his fans are annoying psychos.   Like everything else, the few bad apples are usually the image people notice.
