Favorite Bike Wash Products?

Shout, pressure washer, hardware store silicone lube after. The sprayer bottles shout comes in sucks, but you can buy 1/2 gallon jug refill bottles of shout for $6 and fill em into a stronger spray bottle. 
 

For those of you roaching bearings and seals with a pressure washer: How are you beating your bike up so bad? You know you can angle the gun and take a few steps back, right? You spend all this time learning how to race a dirt bike but can’t figure out how to use a pressure washer?

Hey guys, just wanted to contribute something not mentioned here yet. I'm sure some of you guys are familiar with Grip Clean. I started working there almost a year ago after working in the moto industry for the past 15 years, heavily involved in custom wheels and coatings. 

We are moto nerds here, and for quite a while we've been working on a quality, made in USA, safe to use, yet highly efficent wash soap for your MX/SxS/ATV/MTB/toy hauler/walls of your house/anything that you enjoy and get dirty, really. 

I know we're jumping the gun a bit here, but we are just too excited to start spreading the word that we are currently in the process of bottling and launching our brand new Green Glow Powersports Wash, which will be in stock and available for purchase very soon. 

A lot of thought, research, and testing goes into our products on our own bikes and vehicles with extreme focus on the expensive anodized/coated parts we all love to put on them. We really love everything about this formula, and we can't wait to get it to you guys!

Pressure wash off bike then spray whole bike, rims, and tires with Mean Green.  Just need to soak a few minutes.  No need to dilute.  It works great and will not degrade your aluminum.  Spray chain with WD-40 and put bike up until next ride day!

In South Africa we have Prepsol.

Also, a few Beers, Pressure Washer and Bluetooth Speaker.

Another vote for Shout. I still like to mix up a wash bucket with Dawn for the plastics and front end. Also use muc-off cleaner sparingly. 

How about you guys that wash your bike on your lawn? Soap and water seems not be an issue for me but interested in trying something else. 

I use this and it rocks  ! Just hate dealing with crappy pump sprayers 

I bought a bag of this after reading about it here.  I just washed 3 bikes last weekend and it seemed to work about as good as the Zep 505 I have used for years.  Will finish up the bag and see if results are any different for cleaning off different types of dirt.

No matter what cleaning product I've tried over the years, none of them do a perfect job and I always go over the plastics/seat and wheels with some Dawn and a wash mit or brush after the initial power washing or touch up in the shop with some Pro Honda cleaner or SC1.

Dirt Bandit.

This stuff was amazing back when you could find it. Cleans like none other and also turns all the black plastic and rubber bits black again. Motosport no longer carries it unfortunately.

If you used simple green or any other plain soapy product, this stuff was a major upgrade. Left the bike looking new without the fake shiny look of sc1.

Pro Clean 1000 was awesome, too bad they don't make it anymore.

I'm still trying to figure out which cleaners I like but I know for a fact the essentials are: 

- Electric Pressure Washer (quiet for the neighbors and not as powerful that it ruins seals and bearings easily)

- Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (for plastics and everything else)

- Scothbrite or Steel Wool for the Metal Parts

- SC1 (for the finishing shine)

As much as I want to find the next best thing, I always seem to fall back on Simple Green. But as far as moto specific cleaners, I dont think there is anything stronger than S100. Stuff is pretty much too strong. Ive been buying MotoMuck cleaner and that seems to be a nice balance of Clean without destroying. Leaves plastics looking nice, makes me worry though what its doing to the brake disk and pads if its providing some coating on plastic. My SC1 usage has fallen off greatly since Motomuck. My local shop carries it, Im not sure Id go out of my way to buy it otherwise

What have you found that specifically works best for tires? I have been experimenting with Scrubbing Bubbles.

In regards to general bike cleanup, I use a mixture of Dawn, Laundry Detergent and Hydrogen Peroxide.

Dawn dish soap and a large bristle brush. Try not to leave soap on rubber too long.

Scrubbing Bubbles

Dirt Squirt was the be all end all of bike wash.  But theyre gone.  Suzuki Ecstar Bike Wash is almost the same thing. Makes your tires comes out black like new

I use the Bio Wash when it's not crazy muddy. It works great and smells good too! 

Zep Fast 505 works well for tires without scrubbing.

Switched to shout from simple green last year, game changer. Love it. So Im a pressure washer and shout guy. 

I've seen a lot of Shout fans here. How do you use it? 

I usually cut it 50/50 with water into a lil pump sprayer and spray on bike liberally and let soak a few mins then pressure wash it off.

I had a bottle of this stuff in the garage (sorry for the obnoxious pixelated screenshot idk what happened lol) and decided to try using it to spot clean and detail some hard to reach places before opening up my bike's valve cover. I was actually very impressed with how well it cleaned up light dust and dirt with just a spray and wipe down with a microfiber cloth. It also leaves a nice shine on my plastics and black gas tank on my KTM 250f. I think its a nice alternative to SC1 with the added bonus of light cleaning. Bought it at Walmart for less than $10 and it's lasted me a long time.
