So this is why I couldn't breathe worth a shit 5 minutes into open practice at B-52?
Jokes aside Ive been training my ass off for the upcoming XC season and ive felt like ive made a ton of cardio progress, but riding inside with all the exhaust smoke probably cut my endurance by 75%...
Ive been putting in alot of effort lately too but definitely didn't feel that way inside there. My asthma freaked and once that happens blood flow slows it feels like and i tighten up. Ive been doing a 5k a day and cycling on off days when my knees hurt and dont have many asthma occurrences. It all kinda makes sense now. If i dont put in a decent amount of cardio while training, you can stick a fork in me lol.
I went about two weeks ago for the spykes gasgas demo when we were in the middle of that cold snap and it was probably 20 degrees in there with the heat on. The cold and smoke sure did make my lungs burn, and when I do any sort of cardio in the cold my nose goes runny and stuffs up. Definitely a combo of things.
There's a common logical fallacy it appears you're unaware of. It's called survivorship bias https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias

In this instance just call it lead poisoning.
That and I am pretty sure lead poisoning is cumulative over time, but I did not stay at the Holiday Inn and doctors should be consulted.
Point is the CO will produce those symptoms in a heartbeat, people die regularly running generators in cold weather.
The OP might want to check some of the other places you spend time at to see if that blood result comes from some other source of contamination, or chase it down at this location. If other people are popping high lead level and the only real connection is the track, then there is at least some tease of an issue/
omg you guys don't get it Motorcycles are designed to operated in the great outdoors no internal combustion engine should operate indoors without proper ventilation
tell that to the residents of Flint, fuckin dumbass boomer
Thank You so Much Mr. Richard Cranium
I think that lead has affected you more than you realize. Great comeback. Hope your kids don’t hate you too much, they’ll be taking care of you soon.
Ohhhh shit, we found the edgy teenager. You know you're big mad when you start talking about a dude dying...and his kids. You totally won this argument, bravo.
First we need to talk 2 stroke vs 4-stroke. For 4-strokes, there's no logical reason to run lead, anywhere, anytime. They run fine or even better on unleaded fuel.
For 2-strokes, lead can be a performance enhancer. As for Chad Reed being a swell guy and running unleaded in his kids' 2-strokes... yeah, well, when I get a big fuel sponsor to ship me pallets of free race gas and and talk about how awesome their unleaded 2-stroke fuel is, I'll do that also. Until then, cheap, leaded fuel in 2-strokes it shall be.
For tight indoor tracks, making a blanket "no lead" rule makes sense to me. Any small performance improvement is easy to give up for obvious health benefits. Yes, there's lots of other things about engines running in a building that aren't good for you, but if we can easily eliminate one of the factors, seems smart. For outdoors, running leaded fuel in 2-strokes is not an issue unless you are dumb and suck on tailpipes. There's sufficient ventilation and dispersion that you aren't getting dosed by lead.
Leaded fuel at indoor MX tracks. It's the title of the thread, that's why they're talking it indoors.
Are there any links between lead exposure and learning disabilities?
I’d submit this board as evidence for a link.
Lead reduces intelligence, as shown by some vitards!

Smart!
For indoor motorsports in Europe, it's mandatory many places to use Alkylate petrol.
I usually use it in my chainsaw, buying cans that are premixed. I don't get headache and my clothes don't stink afterwards.
