Chase is the one who's impressing me the most. When he let Jett by, it is giving me the impression that he has learned what the limit is and taking more of an Eli approach instead of blistering speed that leads to a lot of mistakes. I think with the KTM, he's learning the bike and also learning to take what the track is giving him instead of going over that edge.
Keep it up Chase!
At no point has he looked out of control or that a front end wash is imminent. He looks great.
Decoster is a genius
Jett seems to have inherited the speed and crashes of last years Chase.
At one point through one of the whoop sections I saw the front end deflect sideways and he continued through the section as if nothing happened. Last year I saw the exact same thing and it put him on the ground. Having ridden the Honda and feeling that first hand I feel a lot of his crashes the last few years were because of the bike and not him. For the record I’m not a fan of his so it’s not fanboy stuff blaming the bike. I think as he adapts to the KTM learning the feel in different dirts he’s going to get faster. He’s been on an aluminum frame for so long that it’s going to take some learning to get the feel of the steel frame flex tendencies.
Interesting that Chase recovered from a massive front end bobble in San Francisco right off the start - same thing that took him down multiple time last year. As wrc777 noted, it's fascinating how this season's Jett is so much like Chase Sexton last season.

Like Jason said ...after he let jett bye...jett crashed..and sexton passed...he can predict he future now...
How did he crash in Moto 2?
Whoops apparently. No one has produced a clip and the broadcast didn't even mention it until the next main. Not like he's the defending champ or anything
I like Chase's approach this year. However, I disagree it was a good thing to let Jett by as easy as he did.
I would at least try to put up a fight and keep him back there like Hombre did without pushing the limits. Letting others by shows weakness and gives your competitor confidence.
He's understanding "tuck the front end" now. Race jett hard and lose, giving jett more confidence. Or easily let him by, making it obvious that you let him by.
Have to admit he’s looking pretty good and definitely a title contender. I thought he would struggle with new bike/team and set up.
He hasn't crashed out of a lead yet, so there's that. Good on him.
If he didn't crash in race 2 (1 min to go), he would be running the red plate by 1 point.
Well yeah, what setup data do you think they're using for both the Honda 450's.. Chase's last year settings..
Nope...too busy showing Wonderboy on his parade lap or scratching his ass.
I believe Jett's father (Dazzy)? said in an interview that the setup from the "previous guy" was very far off and they had to find their own setup. The interview was before the crashes....
Was that the same interview where he shot his mouth off about Jett being "the real deal mthfks"? Because his results don't show it.. Karma's a B.
His success have something to do with WP joining the "Hybrid Air Fork " club?
Pit Row
After seeing Chase's stellar performance in Race #1 followed by the quick snap out of the gate in Race #3...I was absolutely convinced that he must have had a mechanical problem that slowed him and caused him to let Jett by...but after watching some post race interviews Sunday I found out that was not the case. I agree that he is being mindful of his limits. Once he gets the KTM dialed, he's gonna be a serious contender! Awesome race. Man this is shaping to be a great season.
If Jett didn't crash on the last lap of race 3 he would be running the red plate. That's why we run the races to the checkers....
With a win and being right in the thick of the points chase, I think his results are showing it. Same as Chase, he was one fall away from the points lead.
It’s early in the season. There’s been three odd races. Sexton has stayed focused, and he can maintain as we’ve seen in the past, but don’t judge everything by a couple of races. Not sure why this is not common knowledge.
He said in a Pulp interview he was riding too far on the front of the bike when he was washing the front. If he’s better on the KTM is it the bike or is it he adjusted his riding style? If he adjusted his position slightly on the Honda he wins the SX championship by what 20-30 points.
Where I think Chase lost his speed by switching brands and going slower in the whoops. I think by ticking his speed down that one notch, he's more consistent than on the Honda throughout the whole track and during the day.
