Anderson seemed to ride fine. But his bike came to complete stop when his front wheel went into an abyss on the start straight.
2 races in and it just got interesting?

Chase sitting with a double-digit points lead on almost the whole field after 2 rounds... that's a pretty solid place to be in for a guy with a lot of doubt surrounding him in the preseason.
Put expectations and points into a blender - I like it.
At least the perfect season theory is put to rest early this season
The beauty and the curse of sx and mx racing is that anything at all can and will happen. We may experience this type of chaos every race for the next 15 - and I hope we do.
Everyone remain healthy and let's get to it in San Diego.
Did you think the remaining 16 races after A1 were gonna be boring?
Chase winning is what it is. I am more excited about the "we made huge progress this week". Obviously he was happy he won, but his demeanor was markedly more upbeat than last week.
I am a Lawrence fan, but you are 100% on it.
Hell, it may help Jett to have that monkey off his back.
I still think it's Jett's to lose but I'm glad Eli is in the mix and Chase got a boost of confidence.
How many 9ths do you think Chase will get?
If Jett had continued a perfect season, then yes, it would have been boring. I hate perfect seasons. I hated JS7's perfect season, and RC's, and Jett's. I'm not a big fan of JS7, but I AM a big fan of RC. Jett... I'm still on the fence. I hate all the hype around him, but I can't put the blame for that on him. It's his job to win races. I still hate perfect seasons. I like to see close racing.
My interest now points to how Jett will respond. He is used to being out front in races and in points. Does he panic a little or is he able to stay calm and do it over the next 15 rounds? Also, Chases comfort moving forward and Eli as well. Hopefully the entire year is fun
I hope he "panics" a little, but his maturity during the outdoor season and last years 250 SX suggests he will be fine. I also don't think he can just run away from these guys, but the best part is we get to watch it.
He lost the point lead in 250s when his Honda grenaded at Red Bud. That championship went down to the last race. I doubt he's in panic mode with 15 races left.
In the 250’s…. This is a whole different ballgame with bigger beasts on the line. When I say panic I will be more specific. I don’t think Jett will implode or pull a Dungey when Lawrence was messing with him. But more, will he push a little too hard in the race to make up time/points and feel more urgency.
Pit Row
Mookie can’t catch a break… if it’s a big crash… he is in it…
Maybe I'm remembering it wrong and just being nostalgic, but RC made his interesting by still riding on the edge and seeing how far up through the field he could lap. I don't think announcers back then were speculating on how much speed he had left to give if he needed to as he cruised around and managed a lead.
250s, 450s, it's racing for a championship. He's renowned for managing the race better than anyone but he's going to start pushing now? Because of a mud race? If he imploded and actually got beat in a normal race there might be something to talk about. I guess we'll find out next week. It for sure had to be a huge mental boost for Tomac and that's the last thing these other guys want to see. That was about as good as a win last night for Eli
Glad to see Tomac get a bunch of points, but I think it's a bit premature to say that He's Back!!! Last night was a one off gnarly slopfest, in which he has a lot more experience than most of his competitors. The week before he showed very little of his previous speed or intensity. I hope he's back, to make the season more interesting, but I'll wait for more proof. His Beast Mode rides are awesome.
I felt the same way last night when everyone was declaring "he's back." A slob fest like that proved he's back as much as it proved Jett can be beaten. I think it was great for his mental game after a tough A1
Ya well, no one has ever managed to win the title after two rounds. With 15 more rounds on the table we will sure see some amazing shit taking place.
Even if Tomac isn't 100% and the conditions were shitty, a few times when the camera was on him it was a clear reminder how good he is. I don't know why or what it is, but sometimes he just looks so solid and composed on the bike, it's like a total visual "I've got this" vibe that Tomac puts out.
Put yeah, good to see Chase get his first win on the pumpkin ticked off, good to see Prado win a heat, cool to see AP, McElrath, Kenny, Ciancarulo and a whole host of others work as hard as ever and ride well. Best of a bad situation for the riders and us watching it 🙂
Yes he is renowned for his management, mainly in the 250 class. He has had 1 outdoor season on the 450. Again, non comparable to 450 SX. The points are tight, and this is where the real test comes in. Not leading from the front and managing. With steeper talent pool and 15 past champions. Again, not discrediting Jett by any means. But I am not one to give him benefit of the doubt when he hasn’t done it before in supercross on the 450 against these champions.
