nah unfortunately not cause roczen ended up racing Daytona on tht 350 I believe the season before
Oh I forgot about that, thank you. Just seemed like they’re dancing around the fact Roczen has won his first debut race on a 450** haha. I’m on the Jett hype train but not at the cost of diminishing other riders previous achievements.
Jett has 2 450 titles, so let's go easy on the rookie talk...
Was Josh grant not a rookie and won a1 in 09?

Roczen raced a couple 450 races in 2011, 2012 AND 2013
At least 1.5
He's a rookie no matter how you want to slice it.
Funny how they didn’t include roczen and grant in that list of early winners and just want to compare Jett to rc stew reed and McGrath constantly
either way congrats to Jett he will definetly leave a big impression
He also raced Seattle 450s in 2008 where he finished 6th https://vault.racerxonline.com/2008-04-26/sx/lumen-field
Bradshaw won his debut but did race one race the year before.
You’re right
In before oldmate posts his photo taking all the credit
Grant also raced one race the year before.
Why is there talk. Dude wiped the floor. I had the most respect for the Aussie. He simply out competed everyone. I was hoping for a variety of riders to challenge. They didn't. He won if he continues is a great question with lots a questing marks. Stop looking at a question with unreasonable ideas. The guy proved he is worthy.
I’m not trying to discredit Jett, as I mentioned I am a fan and was stoked to see him win. I was just confused on the what the specifications were for him to obtain the “first ever premier rookie to win debut” as I had thought that title was taken years ago. I was wrong.
Reed, Grant, Bradshaw, and Roczen all won their debut races for their first full rookie year on the big bike. Jett is the first to win his first ever SX race on the big bike. Technicalities for sure. Impressive by all of them no question.
I'm the first Rookie to walk on the dark side of the Moon🇺🇸🤘
This, and the list they broadcasted was of the top five all time SX winners and how many races it took them to win a 450 SX. That’s why others weren’t included.
Pit Row
Nope. Pierre Karsmakers was at Daytona. Not a tailored stat, just a made up one.
Tortelli won his 2nd 250 race. I thought it was his first.
Marty Tripes?
Took him 11 races.
Tortelli 98 ? 🤔
No. Like it was written just above, 98 L.A. Coliseum SX was his second race in the 250cc category (first one was in 97).
If those guys doing one round the year before discredits them from the stat, shouldn’t smx discredit Jett? The smx tracks were supercross without whoops let’s be honest.
It was his second race.
Yeah I mean I get Jett fans or even fans in general want to be a part of a cool stat like that. Just doesn’t quite add up in reality. Technically yes I get it. But like you said, his first SMX race he did not win and those other guys stepping up in the middle of their 125/250/lites career for one or two rounds seems silly to count. I highly doubt Jett would have won his first race last year if he rode some West Coast rounds on the 450.
Technically ….. who won the very 1st Supercross race ever? That would have been the 1st rookie to win.
Jett shouldn't count his chickens early....One complete knee rebuild or chronic shoulder separations and he could end up like AC.....
No, because they were not supercross races and were nothing remotely similar to a supercross race, outside of LA
Post a reply to: Jett first rookie to win A1??
