Big fan of Coop, but we’ll need to see more than some uncontested laps at the test track to see how he stacks up against the others in a month.

You do realize that every factory pro looks "comfortable" when they are all alone on a groomed practice track that they ride every day, right?

Do you remember where he was at when he got hurt last year? And when has he ever done good in off season races?

On the ktm many times he would use the front brake so hard the back wheel lifted going into the corners.   Not many people do that. 
 

I think I saw some of that in his IG post 

hopefully he can figure out them tight insides late Moto.  That’s a skill he has better than most

I thought Guy Cooper was coming back when I read the headline. Sky high ain't afraid to die, Guy "airtime" Cooper. 

Whatever Carmichael says about the Web wagon, good or bad, I'm going with his opinion. Been right a lot so far.

yeah, ya know the saying, you're only as good as your last race, personally I think he may get a few podiums but def don't see him as a title contender. but that's why they race

Like I said, I’m a big fan of his myself. I know he’s still capable of being up front, he was in the mix in SX until his crash.

All I’m saying is that it’s a new bike, new program, and we can only go off of his race results so far, off-season or not. I think it’s safe to say that it’s never been the big Insta-banger whips and practice track clips that have impressed us with Webb, it’s his line selection, how takes advantage of passing opportunities… his racecraft. 

So I’m never really looking too far into test track footage for how he’ll stack up, whether it’s Webb or anybody else, for that matter. But I have no doubt that he’s more than capable of getting up to speed by A1.

If you guys were at the vet track at Cahuilla about a month ago, you'd have seen that I was looking really comfortable, too.
