No I’m ready for E-Bikes to go away.
Please post e bike content in the e bike thread. If anyone wants to see it they'll go there on their own.
Nothing I've said is political...
The problem with your statement "the sport we all know and love", isn't anymore.
4 strokes have ruined the sport, some of the reasons Silas outlined in his post. SX is getting more and more like a circus every year....practiced to death aerial gymnastics. Not to mention, the increasing number of season/career ending injuries... 80hp electrics are going to make it better? Imagine how incredibly boring all electric Nationals are going to be... will there even be Nationals down the road? In DeCosters words: On the business side, the AMA Nationals help dirt bike sales and create places to ride. If it were not for the Nationals, a lot of other outdoor events would disappear.

Why is it a big deal to just scroll past a thread you're not interested in ? Suddenly we have a bunch of wanna be moderators in here . Moto related is moto related regardless of how a machine is powered .
Virtue signaling over this? amazing
The Varg is a compelling bike in so many ways, don't get me wrong, but the bike(s) I'm much more curious about are the ones like the Surron. It's THESE bikes that could truly return the sport back to it's roots, back to a time when an average guy could buy a Yamaha DT1, strip off the lights, put a fork brace on the front and a set of Konis on the back, and go racing with their buddies in a grassy field somewhere. That guy and his buds had no fools-gold thoughts of becoming multi-millionaire pros, they were just free-spirits who'd stumbled onto the fantastic sport of motocross racing. I would know - I grew up watching them and wanting to join them once I was old enough.
Simple, relatively maintenance-free, relatively inexpensive electric bikes could provide both a path into the future and a nostalgic glance at the past, and if you don't know how "bussin" that is, it's only because you're too young to have witnessed what it was like "back in the day."
You can ride my Varg when you’re done complaining. Don’t get mad if it makes you smile.
Range is the problem....it may work for moto, but not the folks riding the hills/deserts etc. Battery technology isn't going to get much better when it comes to range on a limited space 250 lb bike. Everyone says gas bikes will still be available....I think not past a certain point. NJ just joined nazi-fornia in banning new gas vehicles by 2035. Like it or not....they're coming for your fun 2, wheels or 4 wheels.
FWIW - Funbike Center here in SD had a Varg on the showroom floor a couple weekends ago. In person, it looks like a quality build and I'm sure it's fun to ride. @13K, it just puts it further out of the reach of people with limited means. Bottom line for me....the sounds/smell of riding/racing/spectating are a key factor. Without that, the sport is dead in my eyes.
So you would rather have no electric options available when the time comes and gas bikes are supposedly phased out? Seems like we should probably be working the kinks out now if that's really the way you're convinced things are headed.
But more to the point, if you and a lot of others would actually listen to the interview I posted we address a lot of these concerns, and more. Unless you do not, in fact, actually want to learn more about electric bikes and just like posting in threads that ask if you do. . . which is a little bit strange.
This is an E-bike thread, and you're here complaining about E-bike content in the E-bike thread. This wasn't a vaguely titled thread, the term "E-bike" is literally in the title and you came here on your own to post in it.
Don't you mean build the wall jump, build the wall jump, build the wall jump...
You get so wounded over the ebike thing bro it’s embarrassing. Log off
You could say the same about Suzuki's or Beta's, Fantics or TM's - most people don't own those brands, so probably need their own forums...
Says the guy begging “please”
JM you did it again you naughty boy.
How dare you post a thread about something of interest to you in the moto world on a moto forum?
They've told you already, there are apparently a couple of people around here in charge of vetting all content so you need to submit to them in advance anything you wish to write and you may be authorized to post it on this public forum if and only if they grant you this right based on their appreciation of the topic.
Bottom line, if it's not of their liking you should not post it and we are not authorized to discuss about it, why is that so hard to understand?
To make things worse you deliberately used a confusing thread title mentioning ebikes while you are in fact talking about ebikes, that is so messed up of you.
I mean if you had used a clear title, nobody in their right mind with no interest in the topic would feel tricked to read it and compelled to reply to it to complain about it, right?
Except maybe people who can't stand anymore the non stop media electric bs propaganda invasion put up by guys like you...
Pit Row
Do you know what propaganda means? It's not "discussion about something I don't like" nor "opinion I disagree with".
Sure buddy I see a lot of propaganda BS in the electric threads, people pushing their ideas using false or misleading information, actually there is so much of it that I made a bingo card. It's usually quite obvious anti-EV BS, the latest jewel in the crown of BS was pushing a calculation getting things wrong by a factor of 7 000 000, talk about getting things hilariously wrong
That can be called propaganda, did you miss it?
Now if you were to truly think I relayed misinformation or got facts wrong in anything I have relayed here, even by less than a factor of 7 millions, I would gladly set the record straight.
In the meantime, how about letting people discussing something for which they share a common interest, even if you personally do not?
I believe the hate of e-bikes is because people think they are not affordable and the range is an issue. I believe most those people go to the track and ride like 10-20 laps tops, an e-bike can do WAY more than that. The affordable part is coming, as company’s like E&C are make powerful motors affordable, Lithium King make motor mounts for different bikes and Eon Lithium is building custom batteries. More companies are coming too. This is just the start of 70’s style Moto coming back. People building bikes instead of just throwing overpriced billet at it. I love seeing the ingenuity of people. Plus as stated earlier, the Sur Ron’s are making motorized bikes fun and affordable again. Sorry y’all spend more time yelling at the clouds, just don’t get mad as I honk my horn as I pass you on the inside rut 😁
People who hav to have sound, just put a speaker on the bike. They do it with electric cars, make it sound however you like. 2 stroke seems to be the movie default, so it'll probably be for an engine noise simulator as well... You could even add in a bog, or program in simulated stalling like Toyota on their fake stick shift car. Come out of a corner too slow and the motor bogs, then shuts off. Then you could simulate a hard starting bike and make it take 30-60 seconds before the bike will take off.
"Propaganda is a set of persuasion techniques implemented to propagate, by all available means, an opinion or an ideology. These techniques are exercised on a population in order to influence it, or even indoctrinate it."
My dear Beagle, one look at your posting history tells it all: you're the exact definition of a propagandist.
If you click on where it says Main Forum, page down a little, there is an electric bike forum all to yourselves.
The most hilarious part of all this is, whiny, teary-eyed, lip-quivering little twerps like you are tired of reading about electric bikes NOW. You seem completely oblivious to the fact that you're like a guy who's tired of swimming in the ocean who's about to get hit by a series of 100-foot tsunamis.
THIS? THIS RIGHT NOW? This is the calm before the storm. You'll be drowning in electric in a year or two, and it will only get "worse" from there on out.
So grab that downvote button and press away while you still have the energy to do so, but know that my amusement at your futility has now reached a drug-like level. So thanks in advance.
This was me .. wasn't excited at all about E bikes and was all machismo about it: there's no sound, what about the smell of race gas, I'm a tough guy and ride gas!
Ha!
Then I took 1 lap on the varg ...
All smiles now
Can't wait to add one to my garage
Wait so I’m part of the media now?!
Oh man, I can’t wait to add that to my LinkedIn what a career diversifier for an engineer haha.
What's funny is every complaining post just bumps it to the top .
You and me man
"Informations or ides that are spread by an organized group or government to influence people's opinions, especially by not giving all the facts or by secretly emphasizing only one way of looking at the facts"
By definition we need to be at least two, so how are we gonna call our secret organization to impose our views to the rest of the world?
Still waiting for an example where I was misleading people BTW. Was it when I was criticizing Stark delivery delays, lack of communication or maybe talking about real-life battery range ? Maybe when I was copying laptimes?
The title is “looking to learn More About E Bikes”. Now I definitely don’t claim to be a literary scholar but something tells me this falls under the e bike category of the forum.
