The Assassin ended up where most expected, battling Kroc for third. The Lawrence Brothers are coming into their prime, and are freaks of nature.

Webb wants to win this year, bad...he's got superior race sense and he will be in the hunt all SX season long.

Of course he could have won the last supercross championship and you could say he was in 'contention' due to the points gap through most of the season, but the stats on how many wins it usually takes to win an SX championship would say otherwise.  Anderson won with 4, but you could argue he was mostly taking podiums to manage the championship, and Dungey won with 3 during one of Tomac's weirdo years. Apart from these, the average amount of wins needed since 2011 is 7.

2011. RV. Six wins.

2012. RV. 9 wins.

2013. RV. 10 wins.

2014. RV. 7 wins.

2015. Dunge. 8 wins.

2016. Dunge. 9 wins.

2017. Dunge. 3 wins.

2018. Anderson. 4 wins.

2019. Webb. 7 wins.

2020. Tomac. 7 wins.

2021. Webb. 8 wins.

2022. Tomac. 7 wins.

2023. Sexton. 6 wins.

Cool post, dunge had a sneaky bunch of wins in 15-16.

My take on it is he’s not “off the pace” from what he was as much as some of these new riders (I.e. Lawrence Bros) are just on another pace.  6-9 might be a stretch; give him some credit, he’s historically a top 5 rider. He will be a factor in the 2024 SX for top 5’s and podiums.  Unfortunately as we’ve all seen, injuries can derail rider’s championship hopes, so I think it’s premature to say he needs to give up racing. He’s just another rider to make it interesting in a stacked field.

I mean if he literally didn’t get his head rammed by AC in a tip over he’s your SX champ and Sexton would have a career without ever being an SX champ.

The looking in shape part isn't a big deal 7 weeks out from A1,  he can be plenty lean by then.

I dunno. Webb has managed to beat Kenny their entire 450 careers. Ken seems to be on the same (or almost) pace as the Lawrence’s.  So did Ken get faster too or did Webb slow down?

Pretty sure you’re forgetting about Tomac here. If his achilles didn’t blow neither Chase or Webb had a chance….. But it did and Chase is your 2023 450sx champ.

Everyone is always wanting the “inside scoop” on what happens behind the scenes in our sport.  Looks like Webb is putting it all out there for us.

You do realize they get paid just to show up....he's going to make the same amount of money regardless of where he finishes....  The fact that the OP (who is clueless) and many in this thread think that two Moto's into an offseason race are counting him out is probably the dumbest thing I've read on here...and I don't really care for Webb...FFS...

Clueless you say well we will see how next year pans out I think you will be eating your words making you the clueless one. #motogenius

An FYI for you Nostradumbass....I wasn't making any predictions I was just pointing out how stupid it is to write him off after his first two motos in an off season race....

Funny, the only time he was battling KRoc when he was on the ground. I don't think he even knew he was on the track other than when he tipped over. He was battling for 4th against who?

I wouldn't say he was fat (have not seen him this weekend) but for sure he's not big boned speaking to his skeleton of course.

I'll say that pretty much everybody back of the Lawrences best days are behind them. But...I'd also say, that fourth behind arguably three of the most proficient riders at the moment at the Paris SX, and on a new bike to boot...shows Webb is still a real force to be reckoned with! If anybody thought he'd whip up on Jet & Hunter...they are fools, but he's in some pretty fast company!

Right, it’s got nothing to do with the upfront cash the promoters are throwing at him😂😂😂

By no means am I a massive Webb fan..but damn give the x2 champ some respect. He got smoked last year in Paris as well..was in the title fight all year in SX..got KOd down 10 points. He could be a x3 champ with Eli going out. I never take his outdoor results seriously..he's been bad outdoors since he got on a 450. Webb is a gamer and somehow will still show up during SX.

Bunch of red necks mad at Bud Light but buying Coors Light by the pallet not having a clue that Coors Light spends a boat load of money sponsoring LGBTQ festivals.

Who cares if his best days are behind him.
They were pretty good days.  5 time champ. 2 of them 450SX the most coveted title.  It’s extremely difficult to even get a race win in 450SX.
