EV and ICE will never compete together as an even playing field. Because once you allow them in, then its not a CC restriction anymore. It turns into a HP restriction and then everyone will know the HP of factory bikes. And none of them want to give up that info.

I’ll say this. ANYONE that paid the full amount for their bike that’s in another country is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Especially with this company being so new and not established. I’d be pulling the plug and getting my money back via whomever it is. Bank, credit card company…..

Looks like Honda has one coming. If Honda does, Kawi and Yamaha can’t be far behind. I’d be waiting for one of these. I don’t see potential for these 3 companies going out of business. They are established. The way Stark is doing things, they are going to be done before they even get started. 18k orders and hardly any deliveries??

 

Think about it. A lot of these bikes that are already paid in full by you went to dealerships instead of you so they could be sold a SECOND time. They’re getting paid for bikes TWICE to get money hoping that you’ll just be patient and continue to kindly wait.

You're late to the party, probably you didn't notice they're now delivering 500 bikes a month which may be about a third of any OEM 450 MX monthly sales.

Honda raced the current generation CRF 2 years before they started selling them. Chances are that the Honda will not be available for another 2 years or so.  I love Honda. And am a fan of their products. But with that said, their first generation aluminium framed MX bikes were not great. The first generation 450's had some issues. then the 05 grew better and better until they changed it in 09. And the first couple years of that generation were not great.  And same thing with the generation after that.  The past 2 generations were raced 1 or 2 years before they were for sale.  The current generation CRF 450 raced a season of MXGP's before it was available for sale. 

Honda has stood behind the bikes and had some recalls on some stuff. But the 97 CR250 is legendary as one of the worst bikes. And Honda has had a few not so great bikes since then too. Chances are that the Honda will be a solid bike when it comes out. With Honda durability, dealer support and parts availability. BUT it could also be slow, and not handle as well as the Varg. 

Just because a company can do something, doesn't mean that they will think its worth doing, or that it will sell.I really hope that the electric Honda is amazing when it comes out. But history has shown that  it out performing the Varg should not be a forgone conclusion.

In 5 years I bet that there will be a lot of options for full sized electrics. But if You want to ride one in the next few years, The Varg looks like the best bet.

A  955 vin number doesn't mean they have made 955 bikes , (although they probably have )

I was the one who brought up VIN numbers, I'm not a Stark hater, I'm interested in how their manufacturing is going!

Producing 1,000 is a good start, but production rate needs to increase to meet demand.

Manufacturers name their models after stuff all the time: Yamaha banshee, yamaha wolverine, Honda elsinore, Honda cub etc. etc.

We’re just used to the number of displacement and a letter like ‘F’ to identify the power plant. 

Pretty common with cars as well. Dodge hellcat/hornet, Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Mustang, Chevy Impala.

Yah I should have said 2 years on the low end. Just based guessing based off their recent history of racing  their CRF's for a while before selling production versions.  Seems like we see something well ahead of it being for sale.

Sometimes Honda takes time between patents and production, the RC Valve used in the 2000-2007 CR125 and 2002-2007 CR250 was first patented in 1985!

American Honda is likely putting pressure on Honda Japan to have something to compete with the Stark Varg. Trey Canard is a valuable resource for American Honda, developing their race and production bikes, they must see some benefit in sending him to Japan.

I agree, it shouldn't matter if somebody is riding a Stark or an ICE bike, they should all compete in the same classes, grade the riders to differentiate the classes, not the bikes!

Seems like a pretty candid review. I don't follow Dirt Bike so I am not sure who this is but he claims that at 65% power on the track the battery will last 20 minutes if I heard it correctly. I think his comments about it are what I would imagine it being like after what I have read.

On Starks Instagram they had posted a video saying they were shipping 500 bikes by the end of September. I have posted that link and You have commented on it.  I'm not sure if there is any newer info from Stark with numbers. But I would check Starks Instagram ,website or other social media .
