AP will never win a premier class title and I believe he’ll be remembered as a legend of the sport.
I love AP as much as the next guy, he will never be considered a legend. A great, fun, friendly rider with what I hope is a long healthy career. But those things are not what make someone legendary.
Please define "Legend of the sport"

The only thing DF has been on the last 2 seasons is the ground, and he has been on that a lot.
Would be great if DF could take the championship on the much more compliant kick start bike. The other manufactures would be scratching their heads.

Windham, AP, Magoo, JoJo and a few others are folk heroes, rather than legends. Sometimes championships aren't always remembered.
Its an interesting topic.... the guys you listed are remembered for jaw dropping rides, I don't think AP fits in that category despite his nice guy persona, and a few titles.
AP is largely beloved by the fans. Give him a bit more time maybe, I still think we will miss him when he is gone unlike some champs.
I think “legend” and “fan favorite” are two different things.
Legends are stew, Carmichael,McGrath . All three have changed the sport one way or another….stew,well he’s just stew,doing things other riders never imagined,the scrub which every Tom dick and Harry now do at every track,McGrath with how many sx titles in a row? How many sx wins, his style for the time also changed the sport,Carmichael was one of the biggest names in our sport when he came up, his riding but also training has changed this sport for ever.

Some NFL teams and colleges that do quite a bit of research to determine their colors would strongly disagree with this list
Kind of hard to avoid with Planet Fitness main color being purple and Honda main color being red. Only reason I went with Planet Fitness is because of Mike Grondahl who used to be the CEO of Planet Fitness. If this was to come to fruition (which it doesn't look like it) I would assume the two of them (Grondhal & Ziggy) would be running the team.
Also, the 1995 Honda CR line called. They would like to completely disagree with you on the color combo.
